Seatbelt Clips

Featured Replies

Maybe I'm being silly but why does the Yeti have 4 seatbelt clips when the rear can only carry and provide seatbelts for 3 passengers?

So the centre person can have the strap from the roof connected at his side and then attached across his lap.

Another query ...why does the front passenger belt have a small sewn on 'loop' on the 'across the lap' part of the belt?

Didn't realise the rear seat clip was in two parts, will have to pop it out from the roof mount and take a look.

Thanks

You will find the handbook is useless in illustrating seat belt attachment ...all words and poor illustrations

for most things including seat belts.

This fooled me when I got my Yeti. I even sent the dealer an email with a photo. He wasn't sure whether I was fooling or serious. I felt a right plonker, especially as up to that time I knew more about Yetis than he did (thanks to this forum). It totally ruined my cred.

I asked Rockhopper this very question one day when we had our cars together... and neither of us could work out what this loop did either.

It is to stop the belt from rattleing against the B pillar when there is no one in that seat, but as there is always someone in the drivers seat and they should be strapped in you get a plastic rivet to support the buckle.

Ah!!!!!!!!! What a fantastically logical reason for having it that way! Thanks for clearing that up.

I had to stick a bit or rubber onto the B pillar in the Fabia to stop exactly that rattle.

The loop is a great and simple way of achieving the same thing without adding cost.

I was really impressed when I saw it.

I know. I'm sad, but it just shows a bit of care put into the design of the car.
