Cheers, what does it attach to though? I just have a empty hole where I think the towing eye/bar screws into?

Just find a bolt withe he same thread. Remember it's a reverse thread

I have a spare oem towing eye (god knows why) if you want one. Can give it to you at Combe.

Yeah mate that'd be perfect, cheers

preparing for the worst lol very sensible  altho i wouldnt do it as i wouldnt want to think about my fabia giving up lol :'(

Always have a towing eye attached if you are doing track work, easier for the marshals to move your car without having to fumble around trying to find one, or having to tow your car via the suspension if they can't find it. Just standard practise really :)

Most places specify you have to have a visable tow eye dont they, most have a tow sticker for the rear and then just put the toy eye in the front, as Simon says (no pun intended) its standard practice

Good luck with that! I couldn't find a bolt at all, so made one.

Thought you was running a big FMIC? :dull:

In your case, the tow eye wont fit. the bottom boost pipe goes over it so you WILL NEED the straps off ebay, think there £9.99. I made up a bolt from the origional toweye to hold it in place.

B)

Found a pic of mine with it poking out.

;)

Bottom boost pipe doesn't interfere with towing eye bolt hole on mine. Its above where the intercooler pipework comes in. :)

When using the SS FMIC and Forge pipework the tow eye hole is slightly covered.

The main reason i couldn't get it in is because the tow eye actually goes in and faces down and the pipe is in the way. Took a few pictures, which dont really help my explanation lol.

The bolt isn't going in 90* to the car it's more like 75*.

Hopefully someone will know what i mean :o

Makes sense to me Phil.

Looks like Fabia 1 is about to go 'Scene' with a large influx of owners doing this mod for both track and cosmetic purposes B)

Pip where did you get your bolt from?

he said that he made it from the original toweye (i assume Phil means bolt), but the pic of the bolt doesn't look like a modified bolt - looks pretty standard to me (which is odd as there aren't exactly many reverse thread bolts easily available).

I've ordered the mounting kit from Regal Autosport and will post up my findings when it arrives (which will hopefully be later this week) - once received, I could speak to Paul or Chris at Regal about a possible group buy....

Well you say that.. but..

I chopped the thread off the origional tow eye and drilled/tapped the thread and bolted the tow strap to the old tow eye thread. Locktight it into the car.

The main problem is the reverse thread.

I'd just chop and weld a bolt head onto it

Thats along the lines of what i'd do personally!

I'd love to, but the wife shouts when I get the mig welder out in the lounge :p

Unfortunately, I don't have access to the required equipment, so i'd happily pay a little for someone else to make me a part.
