I saw an E30 with an E39 M5 engine in it once at the Nurburgring. Sounded very cool. No photos sadly.

thought the 4mo got the 12v? and was only the R36 (passat) that got the 24v???

Love that engine it squeezes in most dont forget the extra cash for the charger

when I was last at UNIT 18 they had an R36 engine ready to go in a MK4 golf 4motion
