Its a serious piece of equipment! Its an N/A GTi engined Series 1 106 Rallye so basically Throttle boddies along with everything you could to do to a 106! it's got a dog box as well hence the quick gear changes! The dog box is if you have some serious pennies to spend! :p

I'm in love with it every time I see it! Thats why am building one! ;)

rover metro 1.1 4 speed and put a b16 vtec motor in it, with a 5 speed box ofcourse

And pray you don't crash

I'm afraid to agree with most of the Frenchy hatchback suggestions for your track car, GTI 6, Clio 2.0L 16v. Peugeot 205GTI, 106/Saxo are all popular cars on track, with good reason. They handle quite well on a track, they are cheap, they are light and can be made lighter and don't need huge amounts of power to get them round a lap quickly.

I don't like the idea of Turbo hatches as a track car due to lag/heat soak and cost of replacement. Non turbo cars are more controllable and are fun on track with their high revving engines. Hence me having a 172Cup for a lot less than your budget and if gets shunted or the engine goes then I'm not too bothered at the loss.

Personally I would go towards a 106 they look nicer that a AX. Although the AX has the advantage of being lighter than the 106.

Also the 106 GTi is a standard car e.g. was bought out the show room like that.... AX has a conversion done and if its not done correctly there could be a list of problems awaiting.

I wouldn't rush into things, take a while and see what options are available. There is a load of things you can do to little french hot hatches and doesn't cost an arm and a leg! Unless you take it serious that is! :p

I was speaking to someone last night about my engine and they have told me to go down a totally different route on the one I was on before! So am still having a think of what to do...
