Smoked Chrome spiders

Recommended Posts

Just booked my car in for the alloys refubing next week. Going to The Wheel Specialist in Leeds, having heard nothing but praise about them.

Was originally going to get gunmetal, but decided on Smoked chrome. The gunmetal seemed a but plain next to the chrome.

Does anyone have any pics of spiders done in smoke chrome, or even yellow octys with chrome-ish wheels?

wheel specialist do both too. I'm gonna leave the car there. They don't charge any extra to take the wheels off, so I'll let them do it.

I've heard a few bad things about metal magic TBH. It's put me off.

I've also looked at pitstop in huddersfield, who are an agent for a refub company in milton keynes, but they want nearly £400 for the set. :o

i can only go on my past experience,s with metal magic and they were all good i have sent countless customers of mine and all been more than happy but let us know how you get on in leeds

Yeah, I can imagine that.

I've found a few bad reviews which say the finish didn't last.

However, there will be countless people who haven't reviewed them because they have had good experiences. People will complain, but generally won't say anything if everything is OK.

How much do they charge for a set?

p.s. I see you van quite a lot. I live in Emley!

What colour is your car? I saw a silver one a couple of nights ago going under the bridge past the farm shop. I wasn't out yesterday.

I'll give you a peep next time I see the van though. :D

Yeah I had a quote from Pit Stop to refurb my wheels, but soon realised I could just buy a set of new wheels for the same price! So they priced themselves out of the market cunningly.....

Pit Stop are great for fitting tyres though. Pretty much the only place I trust to fit tyres/wheels to my car.

Metal Magic have my VRS spiders at the moment. paying £40 per wheel plus VAT

Having them dark grey.

I did see a couple of bad reviews, but hey ho who doesnt. Vw/Skoda garage recommended them to me.

I will write a review when I get them back!!

Nothing wrong with Metal magic,I have been using them for over 12 years now and never had a problem..They will stand by there work and if someone has a issue just tell them and they will see to it.Alot of people will come on forums and post the bad but never the good,so don't always listen to what you hear.

Yeah I was thinking that. People are quick to complain and all that. I should know - I get it all day. :(

Wolf, can you put up some pics of the wheels when they're finished?

Any news yet?

I'm actually going off the chrome idea and swinging back towards standard silver. The car looks prety good as it is, and yellow cars an dark wheels look a bit odd to me.

You would say that lol :D

I'm gonna give metal magic a call tomorrow and see what they say. I'm going away next week so want to get it done before then ideally. I'll ask if they can colour code the bolt caps too.

Probably gonna go for something darker than standard, but not too dark.

I really can't decide :dull:
