No pic of the new show banner? :(

I can confirm that its tucked well away under lock and key at my house. Looked damn good, and better than the old one which was Briskoda stickers essentially on a white plain banner. It is too long for the Des special frame - was a good height, but the frame is about 6 foot to 6.5 foot so bits of the banner were tucked around the sides. Height was it was perfect.

Great stuff.

I'll get cracking on the new frame shortly.

As said on the other thread, I've got three poles that are 8 foot long so I need to get them cut and sleeved so they can go in a car.

Thanks Jason. :)

I've got some pictures of the banner. Will put them up when I get home tonight

Uploaded my video now in tidy quality for those who have the fast broadband

Bit boring but managed to get round without any incidents which for me is a winner

Great fun and a good day out with friends

Yeah, 8 foot is a bit much for one length :D The current frame is made up of 2 3 foot sections which do go together well, but also compact for storage and transport. The four triangle sections are a little cumbersome, but go in the boot OK.

Ideally I think we could do with a banner about 2/3 the original - Circa 5 foot by 2.5 foot so the frame that Des lovingly created is not wasted. I STILL want to know where the old banner got to, along with about 7 chequered flags....

I got there too late to see everyone on track but managed to take at least a few pictures :)

Apologies for the quality, my memory card died and these are recovered pictures.

Who's Gabi then?

Sorry looks like I don't log in often enough :)

That was me :)

Oh, not sure what happened. It worked last night :(

Can you try the below?

My link

Yes, it works now.

YouTube has done the magic so here is my footage.

Kinda strange being "out front" but also good as the Red Mist doesn't creep in as there's nothing getting in the way.......

Hi, I was in the black Cordoba in front of you on the grid line up. I wasn't intending to be at the front given it was your Briskoda session but somehow I ended up there - sorry!

Wasn't sure what your car was running - the green lamp covers did their trick - so got out of your way following The Esses as the video shows. I was also on semi-slick tarmac rally tyres so thought I'd take it easy as I know they don't like the wet at all. However once you'd pulled away I had plenty of track to myself and enjoyed the session despite the wet track. Trackdays aren't always dry and it's nice to get some practice of handling on the edge in a low stress session.

Just caught up the back of the 'train' in the final couple of laps.

Finally thanks to Jason for posting up on vagowners and letting me join in the session.

I might consider taking bookings for the Spring Action Day 2012, although I have no idea when it is :D Usually middle of April.

I'm in for my track session #2...

Mrs Grr as passenger B)

I'm in as usual

I'm still up for an official Brisky trackday though, if it were done at the right track etc, we could have a right laugh. Better value for money too :)

I'd be in. Where you thinking Si? Not many tracks down south apart from Combe. I was thinking Brans Hatch but that might be a struggle for people oop north :(

The 2 "Briskoda Days" we did back in 09 were great

One at Hullavington (just north of Combe) and one at Colerne, Bath (just west of Combe)

Motorsport Events did a top job and offered free tuition if we could get enough people to go (which we didn't)

Somewhere like Abingdon airfield would be ideal it's pretty central and a more interesting track than the 2 above.

abingdon.jpg

Any idea how many cars we'd need for Abingdon to create a Briskoda session?

when we did the previous days we needed 10 to get free tuition for everyone

although we only had 8 at the first one and 4 the second

I wouldn't get hung up on the "Briskoda session" idea

Motorsport Events days are open pit lane anyway

so imagine doing your 15 mintues as per Combe

come in and have 10 mins off to recover :)

then queue up and go out again

obvisouly as we'd all be there together we'd try to go out at the same time but some are more prepared to burn fuel and kill tyres & brakes than others so may spend more time out there.

The day we did at Bath one guy did the entire morning burnt half a tank of fuel and went home at lunchtime!!

They generally only allow a certain amount of cars on track at any one time so it there is a max of 20 cars and that are 15 Briskodians there only be 5 interlopers!! :)

10-15 people sounds quite achieveable for us. People need a few weeks or a months notice though I guess.

What's the general open pit lane etiquette then? :p You can pay to do half a day (AM or PM) I thought. Like you say, tyres and brakes can be a concern....

Would be a fun day though. Do 15-20mins. Go in. Be a passenger with somebody else and see how they drive, what the their cars like etc.

You just do open pit - go on and off as often as you like. 15 mins is usually enough for any car blasting round. I would also consider a full trackday at one of the airfields (safer too for newbs) - Colerne or Hullavington preferable due to central/west situation. :) Cost is usually around £100 to enter the day, then whatever rubber and fuel you use up :D

When you booking it for then? :D

Not much scope left for me this year, especially with my car not running @ 100%. I would consider something in March next year. I have tried getting lots of Briskodians to enter a trackday before, but lots of people seemed keen but when it came down to it I think it was just me, Barrie, Soot1e and another octavia. :(

I'd be happy to do one next year, this year is out for me too now with the turbo issues. I would definitely commit to it, and wouldn't bail

To be fair Ed arrived saying "once he'd burnt half a tank of fuel he was going home" and thats what exactly he did!

most circuit organised days will run all day but allow you to purchase morning, afternoon or all day if you wanted.

For example theres a day at Donington on Friday - full day £225, or just the afternoon @ £115

Or Combe on the 3rd October - Morning @ £79 - Afternoon @ £89 - All Day @ £145

Etiquette is, as Jase says, go on and off when you want.

They set a max number of cars allowed on track at once; then it's "one out -> one in" rule so you queue up and go when ready.

I'd be up for organising one for the tail end of the year but you run the risk with weather (Combe was hairy enough!) and as Jase says getting people to sign up is actually harder than it sounds!

£30 for the session at Combe is about justifiable - £150 (plus consumables) for a day pounding around Outlon Park is harder to explain away

but hey you can't take it with you! ;)
