Congrats to Blue Flame

Featured Replies

Just got back. I'm happy with the system, however once the car was on the ramp they were adamant that when they did Stuart's they changed the cat but not the DP and if I wanted it doing I'd have to pay an extra

oh dear, hope you get it sorted ok.

a bit of a pain needing to pay the

Kenny, PM me about genuine WRC spoilers.

Thanks Rich!

Just connected VAGCOM and the warning light was due to the cat. I've cleared it and will have to see how it goes.

Nice choice ;)

Which I believe will return in 300 miles or so.

Less than that, came back on today! :(

I though the sports cat was suppost to do enough to prevent the light from coming on...

I'm so tempted, but if i go for it the exhaust has to be stealthy and i don't want the engine check light flashing at me :(

BTW, which tailpipe did you go for Eddy?

I will give Blue Flame a call today and see what they say.

I went for a 6"x4" oval tailpipe.

Quick update, I've phoned BF and someone is going to call me back. Having spoke to someone else about this, if the emission light comes on then it will also more than likely fail the MOT. If I'm having a Cat I want it to pass an MOT otherwise I may as well had a decat fitted.

uh oh.... maybe coz its new and need time you carb up??

Nah you don't need to do that with Miltek's and Rich1068 had the off the shelf BF DP & Cat on his vRS with no probs.

BTW. I was told I'd be phoned back 10mins after my call and I haven't heard anything yet. :(

I have a good idea how to sort it but I don't think I should have to.

jabba and apr can "map out" the cat light.... might be the easiest option?

assume revo can do the same?

Yes Revo can map out the cat light. The other option is to move the post cat O2 sensor so it doesn't see as much gas.

Another update:

Just had a call from Blueflame and they have said they can either experiment with spacing the Lamda probe out further or just fit a 200cell cat.

The problem is I have to take a day off to visit them. So I'm gonna look into spacing the probe out myself or see if Revo can help with a software solution.

In the meantime I just have to put up with the light been on.

Despite my probs I'd still recommend Blueflame. For vRS applications I doubt very much they'll be any probs, it's the custom aspect of mine that has more than likely made things difficult.

Just got back from Blue Flame having had the complete system fitted (Downpipe/Sportscat & box).

Skelmerdale to Essex and not a sign of a warning light (Fingers crossed & Sorry Eddy not a knock)....LOL

Really transforms the car, revs a lot easier, pulls harder and the acceleration is totally improved, as several motors on the M6 & M1 found out.

Bit noisier than the original, but that's to be expected, mind you, I think it sounds alright..............SWMBO will probably have a moan, but there again she drives a Ka.

PS:-As I have a sport cat fitted..I now have a spare standard Cat Convertor from my old system..Perfect condition, if anyone fails the MOT due a dodgy CAT just me a shout.
