White Mk1 vRS...all ex police?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone I have my eye on a stunning white vRS but seen alot about saying all white ones are ex police cars...this one in question the owners said it wasn't and I did a auto check and has had 8 owners and only covered 98k miles. I would have thought if it was Police they would have kept it for a while longer.

Its a late 52 plate by the way.

Here are the owner transfer dates-

01/01/2011

31/03/2010

26/08/2009

01/04/2009

13/08/2006

02/02/2006

01/04/2004

26/02/2003 First owner by looks of it

No one owner has kept it long really.

I will send the link of the car to anyone who can help me out to make sure...I really don't want a ex police car but I do love white :D

Thanks

Tom

Police will generally keep there cars for either a designated number of miles or years so doubt its an ex police car, especially as it appears the first owner had it for just over a year.

Seems a few too many owners for my liking, but im sure you'll give it a good check over.

Not all are police one. Skoda did the wrc limited edition model which was all Stickered up. Shame not many seem to have the stickers on anymore. :(

Cheers for the help guys

Its not a wrc one :( doesn't have the headlight washers etc but I was told the vRS was not available to buy in white.

Some very quick owner changes in the recent past, last one only bought it in Jan and already wants rid? Sounds like it's got big problems or needs a lot spent on it. I think I would avoid that one. Plenty other cars out there.

Could still be a WRC own. check the dash if it has a silver placque on it. May be lucky and owner does not know it is a WRC.

Don't be so negative :smirk: . previous owner may not have liked it for a genuine reason. But agreed still worth having a very good check over and view history and service checks and what was done. Do a AA check or reg check for accidents etc.

Remember not all accident damaged cars are reported as such, could of been in a prang and the force has decided to get rid rather than fix it or report it. Used to go to police auctions now and then and quite often there was a couple of newer damaged ones not recorded

I know of one white VRs that got sold off ...before the local nick came to collect it ....but that was in Cornwall

I seem to remember some White vRS being sold in dealers as they'd been built with sunroofs making fitting Police lights difficult.

IIRC.

This is the car in question if it will help, i'm really not sure but it looks awesome sort of like a wrc rep i suppose.

Car

4 wheel drive????? Sounds very fishy, either he knows nothing about the car or it's a 4X4 non VRS converted to look like a VRS??

dont understand why you'd be set against an ex plod car, mine was ex plod and was by far the best car i've had

Nothing wrong with an ex police car at all but would keep looking if I were you. It has only part history which although doesn't seem important it is I've bought a few cars with questionable service history and it's presented big problems

Keep looking and dont buy the first one you see there's plenty out there

Its coming up on a vehicle check as a skoda octavia rs so im guessing its not 4wd,police cars have a calibrated speedo fitted which this hasnt so if is been replaced with a standard vrs speedo & the part service history the mileage could be wrong. There is enough of these vrs's for sale to keep looking for a good one.
