Monte Carlo Wheels

Featured Replies

I know that the standard wheels on a Monte Carlo are black , but just wondering if anyone has managed to specify Dark Chrome.

I wasn't given an option to change the wheels on my MC

No I wasn't given an option either, but just wondering if anyone has tried.

I would be very surprised if a dealer offers you anything non-catalogue. I was interested in a 1.2tsi Elegance but wanted the standard Comets swapped for the equal-priced Scout alloys because they are easier to clean. The answer from 3 dealers was "No." I would have to buy a new set of wheels. I also asked about getting the VRS sports seats, but they would not even quote me.

Dont know about that, brochure says 17" black Trinity alloys. Look black to me.

They are definately dark grey metallic finish

Just in case you didn't already know, the Monte Carlo alloys aren't the same as the black alloy option available on the vRS.

They looked pretty black to me when I saw them

I have had a Monte sat on my drive for over a week now, they're Grey defo....!!! Granted, a very dark grey but visibly not black as pointed out to me by a few people!!! Same as the horrible light grey coloured rear drums on the car

I'd say they were definitely grey, but what shade/name of grey.  Scuffed my NSF today and would like to touch in the damage.  Any ideas

F7S - Dark Grey.

Thanks Jim

My Wheels are Grey which I cannot understand ! Does any one know why the Monte Carlo wheels are not actually black as stated ?

I've just used black on mine, for a scuff and a couple of chips and they look fine.

When you say "specify", how can you specify something which isn't an option?

It'll have to be an aftermarket refurb for something like dark chrome

Dark Chrome couldn't be specified on the standard Monte wheels unless you upgraded to different alloys.

The Tech couldn't have anything specified, you took it as it came.

Yes an odd one, as the Trinity's do look more dark grey but in the parts book are listed as FL8 Black Metallic, as are the 16" Comet used on the Monte in Europe (and Reaction S/E) and Gigaro on the vRS. Not looked closely at these latter two rims but they have always looked closer to the described black to me than the Trinity's :wonder:
