Fog Light Bulbs

Featured Replies

I want my fog lights to match my 6000k HID's as close as possible, can someone please link me to some tried and tested bulbs on eBay? I hate buying bulbs and finding out that they're ****. :(

Surely the whole point of front fogs is to let you see better in the fog??

White light is useless in fog as it reflects more, which is why they should really be yellow.

Just buy them in HIDs mate. Think theyre H3 bulbs so get a h3 HID kit then theyll match!

+1 on Softscoop.

Osram all-season super +30% for the yellow fog penetrating utility look. Fogs are only used in fog anyway (legally), unless your one of those prats who think fogs look cool whatever the weather

You've obviously not read his profile...23year old male living in Dartford......stating the bloodly obvious!! Mind you....I have tried the above mentioned allseason...Ok...But I swapped them for the full on night breakers..or was it the Phillips version (can't remember..brains gone) because I needed to put more light on the road close up to see the edges, as the main beam is about 200m down the road  !!

Just upgrade the standard bulbs to 100w from 35w, eBay less than -£2 delivered from hong kong

anyone know if upgrading the headlamp high beam bulbs to 100W will they melt the plastic lenses?

I wouldn't risk it..as standard bulb is only 55w!!!!......more drain on the battery...greater risk of the wiring melting.....fuses blowing.....headlamp unit melting due to heat build up. Get some of these...better build...better filament...and different gas inside.....just fit as per a normal one...same wattage etc and enjoy a much brighter light.....also remember that the fogs and high beam are H3 55w, and the dipped beam is H7 55w.. I'm using Osram all seasons in my soon to be replaced pattern

foglamps.

That said, £135 for a set of oe foglamps takes the mick a bit TBH.

Will re-use the all season bulbs in the new ones though and

will lamin X them up yellow again like the current ones are.

At that price the Lamin x is a must as they are prone to being

broken by stone chips on the road and I don't want to have

to buy yet another. :(

It gives a little bit more protection IMO, It's actually quite

rigid stuff.

Oh Come on, surely you have a tape measure !

DB.

High beam are H3 55w, and the dipped beam is H7 55w.. B)

Unless you've got Xenons! emoticon-0105-wink.gif

Which, BTW renders the foglights purely as decoration only! emoticon-0144-nod.gif

But then they are usually of around 35w and with a code of either D1R, D1S, D2R etc, and cost around £50ish pound a "capsule"!!! B)

They're D2S, And Main/Highbeam's are H7's

As for the cost, Well that's what you have to pay for pure white spangly Headlights! emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

That section is the problem. Buying bulbs on ebay & finding them ****? lol never? Use auto bulbs or something

Matt

100w bulbs are technically illegal, although I doubt anyone would ever check as they'd have to wait for them to cool and remove them in the dark etc - it is not unknown for Police Officers to be all high and mighty though and just give a ticket for "illegal bulbs" even if they are fully legal factory xenons. There was a post where this happened on here once.

I've never had a single problem buying branded bulbs off ebay. All appear to be genuine, all work well, and have lasted. I'm guessing the problems come up when you buy the unbranded/from China ones which make all sorts of claims to try get you to buy.

How easy/hard is it to replace the fog light bulbs?

bumper off mate :(

bumper off mate :(

Rubbish! Did mine without taking off the bumper..

Bit of a fiddle though, especially with washer bottle on passenger side.

30 min job tops.

You must be double jointed then. :)

My wrists don't twist that way I'm afraid

I can remove and refit a bumper in about 30 mins now.

I've had a bit of practice.

Bumper off & on in 30 mins!? Good work fella

I changed my fog bulba a few weeks back and had the bumper off (which is a lot easier than you'd think). Unfortunatley one of my bulbs was damaged so had to change it again, this time I just took off the fog surround and and did it that way. Was a bit of a fiddle to get it done but managed in the end. Tbh it would probably be just as quick to get the bumper off.
