Remapped vRS torque figure?

Featured Replies

just had a look at the superchips website and they give these figures for the vRS

Original bhp:180

bhp gain:38

total bhp:218

Original nm:235

nm gain:83

total nm:318

which is about 234lb/ft

Hope this helps

I've driven a vRS with the same map as my old stock engine ( impossible performance ), and tbh very difficult to tell any difference between power delivery.

The ARX comes with a twin cat, so the exhaust should flow a bit better oe single cats

I have the ECU out of Amateurstuntmans old car thats got the IP map on it and I have to say its a damn good map. I love it, I can def tell the difference tho. the good thing with the IP map is its a damn site better on fuel eco than my RS one. mind the RS one is a fair bit more pokie than the IP one but for long runs it doesnt matter lol the IP one is a good compromise.

Just out of interest Billy, what MPG did the RS map give you? I'm asking because I've got an RS map on and we've done a couple of runs out to see family this last week. The trip showed nearly 42mpg yesterday from Scarborough to Pontefract and we're averaging about 36mpg on each tank. How much better is the IP map?

On an 41 mile trip from Cardiff to Avonmouth I get:

RS Tuning Custom map: Way there at the speed limits: 36mpg way back cruise set to 62mph I can get 40mpg if lucky(50 zone above newport)

On a run up home If I drive all the way I can get 41-42 mpg but thats pritty conservative driving gaining speed on the down and pos going down to 55mph on the ups

IP Generic Phase 1 Map: way there at speed limits lol 40+ easy way back set to 68mph(down to 50 in the Newport zone) I get 42-43 mpg regularly

On the run back from Huddersfield a bit back I cam on A roads and managed 44mpg.

As you can see its a damn good saving really. But the drawbacks are there isnt quite as much power in it. I should get them both RR really back to back to see the difference. Might do that when I get a spare few £......

dont know when that will be tho

Just to add,

18" TD pro race + Falken 452 225 40 18 : 1-2 mpg less than using the 17" spiders with Toyo t1R 225 45 17

The IP map seems pretty good then on fuel. It would be interesting to compare the outputs on a RR, but as you said, that costs money - probably cancel out the saving you make in petrol between the two maps. :D

fwiw,

my 1.8t Elegance AUM with K03s was remapped by R-Tech and dyno'd at 205bhp & 234lb/ft
