Bit of a random request but can anyone who has a vRS remapped to 220/225BHP tell me the torque gain they achieved over stock aswel please?

mine was done at shark befor i got it,was done but had the bhp brought down to 205 but torque up to 220 to be smoother to drive if that helps

Thanks mate but not really sorry lol one i'm looking at has been properly mapped to 225 bhp so was wondering ball park what torque figure i'd be looking at.

'Properly mapped', with extras such as downpipe/sports cat, uprated intake etc?

A stock remap with no other mods as mentioned is around 205-215 tops.

Yeah from what i've been told its near enough stage 2.

Probably around 240-250ft/lb. Are you trying to compare it in your mind to a stock one?

stage 2 should be getting near 250llb/ft, min 230

mine has 260 and some are a bit more.

TBH it depends on the RR you use and the tuner

Well my REVO stage 2 is pushing out 225HP with 262lbs torque which is well up near the limit on these KO3s turbos. Very close to Billy motor.

So if your car was mapped well, then you should not be far off those +/- up or down 5%

A mate of mine up leeds way had his mapped at Pauls place and with the std airbox n good filter, Decat and miltec 2.5 system he got 205 bhp but 290lb ft......

I was shocked there.

mind they are mates and they been fiddling with it for ages.

Thanks guys big help.

:)

I know it's not a vRS but mine(1.8t 4x4) was mapped last week and the guy said the expected bhp was 190-195 after the map from 150 standard, can't confirm the figures as it's not been on a rolling road(yet) but it has made one hell of a difference  . just thought it might help in someway

is yours one with a k03s fitted?

is yours one with a k03s fitted?

No idea :S haven't had a chance to look in detail round the engine(only had it a week) I pressume the only way to check would be to look at the turbo or are they fitted to specific engine codes?

my engine code is ARX

what year is your octy?

2001 'Y'

2001 'Y'

all ARX's have K03S's

Once mapped, they're shouldn't be any noticable difference to the various vRS engines.

 the more i find out about my engine the better it gets

your remap should be around 210bhp then

your remap should be around 210bhp then

Are you refering to mine? mines a 1.8t 4x4 not a vRS, can't see a re-map putting it up to 210bhp from 150bhp. That would be getting on for 50% increase :o , I may be wrong though and have been plenty of times before lol.

P.S. sorry Tom I seem to have hi-jacked your thread

your car has a k03s, its the same turbo fitted to the vRS. everything else is pretty much identical.

I've driven a vRS with the same map as my old stock engine ( impossible performance ), and tbh very difficult to tell any difference between power delivery.

The ARX comes with a twin cat, so the exhaust should flow a bit better oe single cats

 still getting better, thanks guys. but let me just get this straight, a re-mapped ARX engine will put out roughly the same power as a re-mapped vRS(don't know the engine code for the vRS)

Yep, the final figure is a combination of the tweaking done by the mapper and the quality of your engine ( some engines just seem to have a bit more to give than other )
