RARB/strut brace advice

Featured Replies

Hello

I have a Fab VRS and am looking for some advice - on my 'Noob' post VRS Pricey suggested good first mods as a whiteline rarb and a seat front strut brace amongst other things, I was wondering do these have any impact without having coilovers and a proper professional suspension geometry setup?? My car is totally standard apart from 312mm brakes and some sort of Seat suspension bushes - previous owner said they were better than standard ones, stronger or something. I can't really afford coulovers right now but would like tighter handling and cornering if poss.... :)

Cheers

Yes they will improve even a standard car.

That would be Cupra console bushes you are most likely referring to.

I would agree 100% with the whiteline RARB and Seat momo front strut brace. I prefer the whiteline to the Jabba RARB simply as it is cheaper and does the same job. I thought both the RARB and strut together made a positive cornering difference. The car felt so much more stable and easier to hold.

Jabba RARB is more expensive but is also quite a bit thicker, also doesn't have the dropper brackets at either end that ain't the greatest of quality on the WL

As I said in your post mate, they were the first mods I did. Before any exterior styling, wheels, remap etc. Do not regret it one bit. Being a small car with a heavy diesel engine in the front understeer was dreadfull. These two mods have improved the driving experience 100%. it's a joy down the back lanes, so much so you can give bigger cars a good run for there money round corners.

Trust me, these mods are a god send!

Jabbasport anti roll bar does an excellent job of making the car a very neutral balance with lift of oversteer if you ask for it. It'll make a much bigger difference than cheap coilovers. Standard springs/dampers will be better than cheap coilovers.

Personally I'd say fit a jabbasport arb and leave it as that. You have the brakes and bushes. Well driven it can make good progress.

Very much open to opinion as you can see.

If you can afford it, go for Jabba RARB and front MOMO strut.

If you want to save £100 or so, go for the whiteline RARB and momo strut.

If you can only afford 1, it's got to be the RARB.

The Jabba RARB does transform the handling nicely, not sure which one is better tbh, i think the whiteline on its stiffest setting is no better then the jabba all the time?
