Knocking after changing console bushes

Featured Replies

I don't have a Fabia but I was following this guide so thought this would be the best place to get help. :D

The missus has a Polo 9n which has the same front suspension. I tried to follow the guide except I also removed the consoles. I had to disconnect the ARB too to remove the consoles. Everything seems fine except for two things.

Road noise is increased on crappy road surfaces. I assume though this is because the console bushes are solid and not voided? Handling is much better!

But the big problem is the metallic knocking noise. I've only heard it when full-lock right and the suspension takes a shunt (like nudging/dropping off a small kerb). I don't think it happens on the N/S.

Any ideas what it could be? I think my camber might be slightly off but it wouldn't cause parts to hit other parts surely?

Thanks in advance!

Check your droplinks.

Did you fit new arb bushes as well?

ARB bushes? Are these the collars on the end that bolt to the console?

Follow the arb from the end in, they're clamped over it.
