Water temp gauge

Featured Replies

Is is possible to make external temperature gauge?

I have Fabia II 2008 1.4L bnz and on dashboard I just have indicator for overheating ... and nothing more :(

Factory does not have any solution for this.

Something like this:

of like this:

I'm guessing it must be possible somehow, the VRS has the analogue gauge as standard, with 90 in the middle being the ideal temperature.

Not sure how you would connect it up though.

VRS ... mmm ... I saw on picture.

A friend tell's me that I can't fix on radiator. It is possible to get senzor from water in bottle but that's not the true value.

Any other possibility?

I find it strange how a lot of car makers drop the water temp thing nower days... I mean if you get the maxi dot it has the temp gauge/fuel gauge as an anologue dial (which I prefer to digital!) but... Vauxhall and Ford both dropped it from their Corsa/Fiesta's (Vauxhall dropped water temp gauge from all its range I believe... except maybe things like the Insignia)

Many new cars don't have temperature gauge :( Just signal lamp and that over.

And now, after 2 years, I'm off the guarantee :) and willing to do something for my own soul for this car.

PLS help me to find the solution or just part witch can be fitted and gave me the right temperature of engine.

That's major cost cutting there eh! If I were to help you... your dashboard would be well and truely f00ked buddy!

Assuming that one model with this engine has the gauge fitted there will be a location for the sensor that is blanked off.

Given the how fast my 1.6TDi CR warms up according to the gauge but I'm sure the thermostat will not have opened so the sensor must be in the block or a pipe near to the block. In any case fitting on the radiator is pointless since if major water loss it will be cool and the block hot.

In theory you could get the sensor than a gauge to suit.

The difficulty is getting a suitable gauge.

Failing that if you can get a sensor and gauge kit you will need fittings to adapt the sensor to the fitting on your car.

It is possible to add the water temp gauge. Keep in mind that your car can be fitted with the MaxiDot dash that has a water temp indicator.

So you either go for the gauge or fit a MaxiDot. Of course there is a difference in price but that is up to what you are aiming for.

I got the same issue with you and I'm still debating which of the two is best. :wonder:

Gauge must be cheaper. Has anyone fitted to a 1.6 crd tdi? When mine is out of warranty I want to do this. Red light tells you that car has overheated - gauge warns you that something is wrong before you overheat and wreck your motor.
