Pollen Paint Damage?

Featured Replies

Borrowed from somewhere else. Is there any truth to this? It was originally in The Sun so I'm not sure

why would that not supprise me :smirk:

Sounds like a bad movie plot from one of those dodgy SyFy channel films.

it is apparently true, there are a lot of sources on the internet and a thread on detailing world showing the damage caused.

I got back from France on Saturday and found my Superb which has been parked at home for 7 days absolutely covered in the same stuff my dads Fabia got covered in whilst in France. Took the Superb to the Jetwash and at least there is no obvious paint damage like those in the thread on detailing world.

Can pollen cause swirl marks if you where to brush it off? I know its grit in a sense but at the same time it is so soft and if it is causing paint work damage I would rather not have it on there but at the same time I don't want to have to fully wash the car every day. I have a field in front of me, a common behind me, a side bush where my car parks and loads of very large trees covering my house. So when it comes to pollen I basically stand no chance.
