Got "the call" yesterday from the dealer, my car has arrived!

But due to bank holidays, time needed for pdi and work commitments, I can't get it until next Friday :'(

Good news is, the Mrs and kids will be at work and nursery, so got all day to play once I've picked it up

Happy days ahead

My dealer said the workshop needed 3 days, I'm sure yours will be the same even with extras.

Hope you get yours Friday too, then we can compare notes once we manage to get ourselves out of our cars!

Excellent news :)

Feels a lifetime ago since I got the call!

3 busy days to go then collection day, getting more excited by the hour!

Had a go at driving SWMBOs new Yaris (well new to us anyway- 09 plate 1.3SR model). Drives much better than her old Yaris (52 plate 1 litre job), but Oh did I want to get back home quickly and get back into my Superb.

The Yaris felt like a toy car in comparison, while the Superb feels grown up and sophisticated. After best part of 30 years with Toyota as first choice motor I am totally amazed at how good the Superb feels and must still look like an idiot with the huge grin I have every time I drive it.

Friday will soon be here... then the fun begins

My wife's last couple of cars pre xtrail were both Yaris's (Yarii?). Both were quite decent cars but I know what you mean, when I had my original Superb it was night and day in terms of refinement, solidity etc. Bora's not bad on that score,.nor is xtrail but I think I'll be grinning every time I drive my new one!

Saw a few more in Lincolnshire this weekend, makes me even keener. However, due to an overdose of giddyness, my 3 yr old has banned me from mentioning the new car :o

Yes, it was quite funny to hear her say "Daddy, what have I told you about your new car? I don't want to hear you talking about it" SWMBO found it very amusing, I have to wonder if she put her up to it :dull:

I see you have a Fabia Monte Carlo on order, I reckon you'll love it, saw a green vrs travelling the opposite way in lincolnshire yesterday, looked very quick and very nice indeed.

Aw bless her! Bet you were :( all I do is talk about my car and its like 2 months away and Yeh very excited!! Spanked the options list too!

I was more :giggle: as it was so funny.

Strangely enough she's been asking about the new car and my old BMW this morning. :wonder:

I've just added met paint, spare wheel, mdi, heated nozzles, self dim rvm and mats to mine. I know some say you don't need mdi but I'll never get all my music on the HD or an SD card. Better for me to plug in the ipod, but I may transfer a few favourite albums to the HD for shorter journeys :)

I love how your 3 year old is asking about your car lol. My Fabia has the mdi, looks good

Yeah it is quite funny, but it won't be when she wants to climb all over the interior on Friday evening! :(

Good job it's got leather! Easy cleaning B)

Nice one! Glad I'm not the only one who has been told to stop going on about the car...! Bet you can't wait until Friday... it'll be here sooner than you think :D

Funny enough swmbo, who has been disinterested at best, told me tonight that it was 3 sleeps and was looking all excited!

Yeah, really looking forward to it, selling the bora back to the stealer I bought from on Thursday evening, then train to Mansfield Friday am! Likely to be busy at work tomorrow and Thursday, so hopefully it won't drag too much

Nearly Friday now.

Try to get some sleep tonight

... and enjoy tomorrow

I'll try! Feel very happy and smiley as opposed to giddy, but that'll change tomorrow morning! :giggle:

Will report in when I get home and post some pics!

Good luck

Hope all goes well and its all you hoped it would be.

It's all gone brilliantly! No hassles with the train journey down, dealer and staff were tremendous, car itself lives up to it's name, great drive home, plenty of power, great ride and handling not to mention comfort!

It has that fantastic new car smell too!

I've got swmbo's birthday present and even met one of my heroes on the train down :D

You bought the missus a Superb...???

Go on then, who did you see...?

PS: glad you like the car... They're great aren't they...?!

No, she's getting a digital camera amongst other things!

The one and only Dickie Bird! Shook his hand and spoke to him, he's a true gent.

And the car is fantastic, been smiling all the way home!

Will put some pics on later too.

Ah, I see :D

Looking forward to seeing the pics...

Another little tip, which is quite useful... on Ave Consumption, there is either a "1" or a "2" in the top corner, pressing the right hand thumb wheel changes from 1 to 2. 1 relates to the trip you are currently driving and 2 relates to "since you last reset".

Thanks for that, a little different to my mk1 maxidot then!

Swmbo and kids now seen it, all love it! B)

Had another look over it, perfect. Can't fault anything.

Particularly like the nav prompts in maxidot, very useful indeed.

Also liking ipod display on Columbus, handy when listening to new tunes.

Glad you arnt disappointed
