Left windscreen washer nozzle not working!

Featured Replies

Hello all,

My leftmost windscreen washer nozzle is not working, however my rightmost one is spraying water correctly.

I intend to fix this myself. Is it as simple as sticking a needle in the nozzle to clean it or something like that? Or is it typically more involved (ie: examine and rectify issues with any connecting hose(s)). Information about my car should be on the left.

Thanks very much,

Nick

probably the hose has popped off. Open the bonnet and have a look as it's likely to be the culprit. although the other day my left nozzle actually came out of its holder a little and caused it not to work properly, i just pushed it back in the holder and it was fine.

Hi Nick

Its poss blocked with a bit of dirt, but don't stick a needle in as doing that will only move it and will come back and block again,

best thing to do it remove the pipe from the nozzle and back blow with air to blow the dirt out, and so wont block again then just

refit the pipe

If you can't get it unblocked, they are about £1 odd from your dealer for replacements.

mine is the same i keep meaning to do it but never get round to it

Check the pipe is connected to the rear of the washer. If it is your washer jet is blocked. It's best to buy a new one for what it costs.

Thanks for all the responses.

My car is getting on a bit, so it was easy to check that situation under the nozzle. The pipe is still connected, so I've purchased a new jet. Am I correct in assuming I can simply remove the old jet and plug in the new one? Is it going to be fiddly?

Additionally, I think some of the clips holding everything together are very old and, in fact, broken. Does anyone know what I need to get to remedy that situation and if any special tools are needed?

Thanks once again!

Took me less that 5 min to swap both over. I simply unclipped them with a flat bladed screwdriver, pull pipe off old one, swap over and clip the new one in.
