Go for it. They look great on my estate, and kids in the back never complain about the sun. I actually chose not to order it with the factory tints, and as soon as the car arrived in the dealers, I se

Heard good things about the quality of Pentagon's work. Interested by their tinted SupaGlass security film too - two products in one really :)

http://www.pentagonglasstech.com

I used Pentagon on my Merc, very good quality and they provided a lifetime guarantee for their work. There was a couple of 911's and Gallardo in at the same time so i guess they have a reputation for quality. Only down side was they placed a little logo sticker on the back window which i didn’t like but i suppose it helps to tell others who did the work should it need corrected or someone wants to remove the films.

That's good to know.

Skodaphile's comment before yours balanced things out so I'm prepared to take the gamble now. :)

Maybe with yours being the estate the shades had a greater area to cover, so flexed a bit more.

I thought that or maybe just bad luck! They offered to send me an alternative set to try, tbh I wasn't convinced by the split screen rear either....

Had mine done recently by a firm in Stafford. Took a while for me to get used to them to be honest and did wonder if Id made a mistake .

Had the 35% tint which is more than dark enough especailly on a white motor. Cost me £180 for the security film version (supposed to be thicker?)which has a lifetime gurantee and includes replacement tints if the windows are broken. They have grown on me and famiy have noticed a positive difference when the sun is out which is good

Had seen the blind/covers but thought they were to much hassle especially if you forget they are attached and open the windows and then wonder where they had flirted off to!

The front doors I've left clear as per the VOSA regulations, but I've had a clear UV protection film installed to help keept the interior cool. The film is a hybrid metallised rather than the cheaper dyes versions, this gives better heat/UV protection, won't fade and also gives true colour perception when looking out. I notice your in Chobham, the guy that installed mine is based in Maidenhead, so not too far from you.

Thanks for all the info I think I will be getting my windows tinted in the next few weeks. Not sure on what level of tint I'll have done at the moment I'll get a few quotes first.

Shrikep 15 what sort of price did you pay in Maidenhead as I will defiantly consider getting them to do it.

I think it was about £300 for the tailgate, front and rear doors. I know it may not be the cheapest but I went for a high quality film and it also includes a lifetime warranty, and besides you get what you pay for.

For info mine cost £150 for B pillar back. This also has lifetime warranty and was fitted by a specialist company that tint all the windows for the local main dealers.

You have PM (shortly).

I have got the Skoda sunblinds on my car.

The rear door ones are great and do look very much like tints.

The Skoda rear hatch one is completely different to the Vanstyle 2 piece. It was a right pain to fit!

You have to remove the surround from the back hatch to drill and mount the hangers for the blind, and then the blind roller needs to be screwed to the back part of the parcel shelf (the part that's backs up to the seats).

The rear one does not look like tints at all though to be honest, as it goes straight up from the parcel shelf to the hatch. Not along the glass itself.

Had seen the blind/covers but thought they were to much hassle especially if you forget they are attached and open the windows and then wonder where they had flirted off to!

The Skoda ones clip firmly to the window frame and are designed to allow the window to be opened with the blind in place.

I have the factory tints on my Scout as well as the interior blinds, they both work really well.

Right, ordered a set of the Vanstyle jobbies, stay tuned for more exciting updates!

Yep that's one of the benefits of the blinds that I liked, versus tints - that the rear windows could be open, but with the protection from the sun still in place emoticon-0148-yes.gif

I think a seperate thread needs to be created for blinds! :giggle:

Is this a day's work in the shop? Do they take the doors apart to get access to bottom?

Will go to Pentagon next week.

Cheers.

Thanks for all the pictures and advice I'm defiantly getting my windows done in the next couple of weeks probably in a midnight tint. Just getting some quotes at the minute so are there any other recomendations of good companies around Surrey? Thanks

Cheers for that - i have just looked and i haven't got a back quarter pic of my car or even a decent side on one - will have to go and take some!

Never thought of Photoshop - been a while since i did anything like that on PS though :giggle:

Just to try and help, the picture above isn't limo tint, they are the same tint as mine (you can just see through them), these are the equivalent of supreme 15 tints which allows 12% light through. Limo tint is equivalent to supreme 8 tint - they look jet black to look at and you won't see objects on the other side. They typically allow 5% light through.

Most aftermarket professional tinting uses the same film, typically solar guard and there are usually around 6 different tint levels available. Supreme 15 is the best one for 'privacy glass', anything above this will offer some privacy and UV protection but can be seen through.
