Bearer of bad news for expectant Vrs owners

Featured Replies

Got this email from dealer today ( ordered red Vrs on 15/1/11 )

"The build week when you ordered your Fabia Vrs was week 12 so you should have had the car mid April. We last spoke on the 1st April when I informed you of the build week change to week 18, having looked again today the manufacture has now removed the build week. I spoke to retailer support who informed me there is model year changes happening and it has effected the build. They hope to have the new build weeks in this month but from experience it will put back delivery further still although I have no idea by how much.

The problems on build weeks has effected the majority of our sales on all models. Once the build week has surpassed 18 weeks we can offer to take your part exchange in and give you a demonstartor although it will not be a Fabia Vrs.

As much as I hate to be the bearer of bad news this is a full picture of the situation."

thats not good news at all

just checked on trackmyskoda website and mine still shows as an unconfirmed build of week 19...and its supposed to be based on a "live system"

Sounds like a bit of a ball-ache!

The offer of a demonstrator to rag the arse off drive round in whilst you're awaiting delivery sounds pretty reasonable tho... :giggle:

Doesn't matter what your px'ing -it won't be as fast as the loan demonstrator you are tooling about in ;)

"Sorry Mr Dealer but I've no idea why the front tires are completely bald and the handbrake cable is suspiciously loose...... :p "

Too right.

My 1.2 donkey diesel courtesy car is the fastest thing I've ever driven.

Glad you are giving it some stick louisV6 - after the experience you've had I'd be handing the courtesy car back with the engine and brakes on fire.... :giggle:

Strange, mine was down for week 18, got built in week 16 and on Saturday was waiting to be loaded onto a ship?

Oh and I ordered on 26th Feb!

At least your dealer is keeping you up to date, compared with some it sounds like you have got one who is customer focused. :)

Oh no I either phone Skoda UK or just turn up at the showroom. Nobody has ever rung me to inform me of anything! Somebody with the same build week has said on another thread that their car will be ready in 8 days, I'll be calling my dealer tomorrow to find out if mine will be too.

Everyone knows that hire cars are the fastest cars out there!

Surely it is not all bad news as you will be getting a newer style car

Besides the new badges....whats the difference to the one in the current brochure then???? I can't see it??? Or am I missing something??? :S

Black Pack

"Black Pack" is that the extra stick-on trims around the sills/wheelarches etc from the Monte-Carlo???

this week is week 18, next week is 19 ...

w/c Monday 30th May will be week number 22 etc

(at least as I understand it  )

I think some people have been lucky as there seems to have been a few unallocated cars trickling through, no doubt some will match the specification ordered by a few customers. I ordered mine on 7th March and have lately been given a revised build date towards the end of August. I could have had a car sooner but it wouldn't be the exact spec I wanted. I've now been provided with a free loan car so I can't complain, may as well put the miles on this and look forward to my new car on a new plate at the previously agreed price.

That’s right my granny got a hire car the other week she normally doesn’t go over 30mph but the first night she had it she was down at Tesco’s doing burnouts and Doughnuts with all the saxo boys.

Seriously though that has to Pxxx you off. I ordered mine 1/4/11 and was given a delivery date for the end of September. I was told a couple of days ago it had now been moved forward and was confirmed build week 20 which means I should be getting it mid to end of June.

What is the full spec of the car I know there is talk on the forum about shortage of parts although Skoda denies this. I would point the dealer in the direction of the forum and ask them to explain why people are receiving their cars and then contact Skoda UK.

This is exactly what the dealer told me yesterday in an email saying that you will get a my12 model :D but still had no build week (ordered 23/3/11) so hopefully if you say the factory is preparing hopefully mine will have a date to put on it

It appears to have no chronological order at all to it. Sounds like they put the orders into a hat and then draw them out.

The thing is I would like my car to be delayed by a couple of weeks so I could get the black pack but at the moment, after reading so many posts, I’m just glad I’m getting it through in build week 20.

HOPEFULLY

I get annoyed when you ring the dealers and they have that bored tone of voice on.

How many times a day are you ringing them? :giggle:

They're probably hearing the same question repeatedly from a number of impatient customers. :p

When I was last at my dealers I heard them ringing people so I'm just going to wait for the call.
