Driver's legroom?

Featured Replies

I have searched high & low on the internet , plus contacted Skoda directly. Unlike every other vehicle in the market, Skoda appear to not state what the drivers legroom range is. Why the big secret? I am 6ft4 and know that Jeremy Clarkson (6FT5) has plenty of headroom, but I have long legs and want to be sure I fit comfortably. I'm in Australia and want to pre-order before they hit show-rooms. Does anyone have the measurement range please?

Surely if Clarkson can drive it comfortable, then you should be able to as well.

Speaking from experience at 6'2" I do not have the driver's seat right back, Normally about two clicks from the end. I do find the steering wheel a bit of a stretch having been used to the more cramped position in my ex X-Trail.

Over 6ft myself (34inch inside leg) and have no problems with the seat right back and as low as it can go.

I'm 6'1" with 34" inside leg. Like Terfyn I am very comfortable for leg room without having to have the seat all the way back. That's one of the things that is so much better about my Yeti than the Impreza I had before. In the Impreza I had to have the seat fully back to have comfortable leg room, but in that position there wasn't enough leg room in the seat behind for a normal adult. The Yeti has decent rear leg room even with the front seats right back, but I don't need to have them right back anyway.

Same here.

I have the manual adjustment seat, and prefer it in the fully up position. Unfortunately, when you raise the seat, it also moves forwards and reduces legroom length. For long journeys this is not a problem but, if a lot of gear changes are required in town, I drop the seat down a few notches and get a better angle to press the clutch pedal. Overall it seems perfectly possible to get a nice position - you just have to experiment a little.

I'm not as tall, at 6' 0", but reckon 6' 4" or 5" shouldn't have problems, but need to keep the seat at a lower setting.

I don't know if the electrically adjustable seat moves forwards when raising; someone else on here will know!

I'm only 5' 7" or so but have 33" inside leg and have no problem. I have the electric seat option which besides adjusting forwards/backwards and up/down also adjusts the angle of the seat base, so has a huge range of movement.

Just a warning... you have be careful of the WhatCar schematics. I've noticed that when they have comparative car tests the figures quoted there are different to the ones they show in their schematics, and they do not always have schematics for cars they have tested! I suspect they do not actually measure cars themselves and just repeat figures from elsewhere.
