I should hope it does considering that the Galaxy S does!!

Thanks for that, good to know.

Its one the phones I'm looking at when I upgrade in August along with a Nokia N8 or C7

I currently use a Nokia 5800 which works brilliantly with the rSAP connection

Thanks for that information. My Samsung Galaxy S2 arrives this week and its nice to know that it should work on my rSap only Golf GTD.

Superb phone. Gave the Iphone 4 to my little cousin and made her happy :)

Got mine yesterday and it connects with my rSap only MkVI Golf. Hopefully it should also work on our Octavia Scout in rSap mode (which will hopefully be built in the next few weeks).

If you ordered GSMIII+ it will no worries. I swapped my GSMIII to + model a few months ago, rSap or HFP both work fine.

I did order the GSMIII+ so that's good news. Thanks for the info.

Cepi,

I have the S2 and it works well in my columbus (superb II 2009).

3 questions.

1- the address book did download a few times in RSAP mode but generally doesnt.

2- Your MFD has 3g, premium and bluetooth icons, mine has 3 "_" lines. (have 2764 firmware on columbus do I have to update firmware on MFD.

3- Is there a way to switch to ordinary bluetooth instead of RSAP to update phonebook.

Thanks

D

Buddy,

1. Address book sometimes is hit and miss when you connect it, but nonetheless address book is available on the Columbus/Maxidot from your previous successful download. Having bluetooth on before you enter the car seems to help.

2. I think mine is on 2764 too, it's stock one from April 2010 when the car arrived, I have never updated it.

3. You could but I just looked around the phone and can't see an option to disable rSAP, i.e like Nokia has on Bluetooth settings On/Off Remote SIM.

Thanks Cepi for your comments.

Heres my updates so far..

1 - Address book works for a number of times after a phone reboot and then fails. A reboot of the phone gets it working again every time.

2 - Cant see why I dont have the 3G, premium and bluetooth icons. Anyone ???

3 - Sorted from point one above. Resrart phone and address book download is fine.

The other thing I found is that not all of the address book is downloaded and there isnt any consistancy. I have a corporate address book from Exchange and some from Facebook.

Looked at Joined accounts, Details in the entries that didnt download and couldnt find a reason why they didnt download. Anyone any Ideas ????

I thought I would add my recent experience with the new Samsung Galaxy S2 and Bolero

Took new phone into garage where car was being serviced and it connected first time.

Tried to download contacts and did not work until I had selected the memory in the Bolero menu, could only load contacts from SIM card not phone.

Not a problem for me as SIM and phone are the same.

Text messages still come up on the Maxidot just as with the Nokia 5800.

Can use Google maps and Navigation on the phone at the same its connected via RSAP to the car.

All in all very pleased

I have just got the S2 this week. had a problem with it connecting over Bluetooth in that the car system would hang. Only way i found of clearing it is to switch off ignition and phone for 10 mins. A bit of a pain!

Also my previous phone, a G1,worked great before. When i do get connection to the car with the S2, i can't use Google navigator or get an internet connection. It all seemed to work better without rsap?

Anyone got any tips i can try?

Well after a few weeks of faffing around with this crap rSAP system, I'm going back to my local dealer to get this rSAP disabled/removed one way or another. Fed up with the phone connecting for 30 seconds then dropping and having to kill bluetooth to get it to connect agaian. Back to HFP. Not bothered about being able to send a txt from the car, only need it for talking after all !

How can I make it connect via HFP and not rSAP?

You can't make SGS2 unless the dealer disables rSAP function and leaves the HFP only and don't know if that is possible.

Connect your SGS2 to KIES Desktop software from Samsung and there should be an updated firmware (updated mine last night) and check then will it hold it's connection better with rSAP.

Honestly I never had any probs with SGS2 and rSAP.

Due to the way rSAP works, i.e takes over your SIM card, then obviously it is up to rSAP module to initiate on demand a Netork connection.

Also i read in a German forum that 2011 WV/Skoda (don't know from which built date, probably last 2 months) has the dial-up Bluetooth networking working where it let's you connect to Data Network, and Maxidot has the GPRS Menu where I have entered my Data Access Point but no luck.

There is also a Alternative Mode in Phone settings in Maxidot where i thought it makes rSAP switch to HFP but didn't seem to make anything.

I will try tomorrow a app from Android Market called Nook Color Bluetooth Tether that support Bluetooth Personal Arean Network-PAN so it initiates a Netork connection through BT and then connect to rSAP.

Ok i tried this Blootooth tetheering app and it did not work. There is at Maxidot on Phone settings then extra menu where the Modem is listed and it has 2 options active modem and paired modem, which none of them work with a paired phone, meaning simply the rSap modules installed on our cars are incapable of initiating the data connection.

As i said earlier maybe someone with a rSap module in their car that was made in last few weeks can help as that is beeing billed as capable of connecting to data.

I've got Columbus in a late 2010 Superb and had no problem connecting an iPhone 3GS but now cannot get a Sumsung Galaxy S2 to connect reliably as "premium" Bluetooth. I know the phone is OK as it connects seamlessly to my Mini Countryman. It seems to work with the Skoda infrequently, but mainly just connects to the Samsung phone with "No Network" and no address book - useless!

Any ideas anyone?

I've found a procedural solution now.

1. Disable Bluetooth on S2 (or switch flight mode on) before switching on ignition

2. Switch on ignition

3. Enable Bluetooth (or turn flight mode off)

4. Car connects with RSAP connectivity and mobile network

Well, it works for me every time, but it's a bit of an annoyance.

I'll get used to it I'm sure, but I prefer the seamless integration of the Mini.

You'll have even more fun when your SGS2 does a firmware update (Gingerbread 2.3.4) and it wipes out your settings for a while. :dull:

No it doesn't. Upgrade through KIES Desktop and do the usual backup, nothing lost on upgrade to 2.3.4.

Also there is no need to turn to Airplane Mode. Just make sure you turn the BT after ignition or after you start the car. Never fails to work properly and always connects if out/in the car again.

I only suggested Airplane mode as it can be accessed without unlocking the phone.

You're in the same boat as me... I've upped the firmware on the phone, makes no difference, phone will connect, then try to download the address book, which fails, then the phone disconnects. Rsap...what a pile of **** ! HFP is much better and more reliable. Skoda dealer here I come...
