what size are the tyres you are looking for ?

I've got Toyo TR1 Proxes for summer and they are alot better than I thought they would be...they also cope better than I ever expected with deep standing water!!! B)

Agreed I used to have Eagle F1s but under heavy cornering the arches would rub as the edge is so square. I shifted to Toyo Proxes and love them, good price too but dont last too long!

Goodyear have stopped producing the Eagle F1, they've been replaced by their asymetric's. I chose Pirelli P Zero's and cant recommend them enough, superb in the wet and dry, cant comment on wear though as i've only had them for about 2000 miles

I had T1-R on my front tyres before, my current ones. I thought they were great in the damp/wet and in the dry, however I found they were not too good in standing water, (aquaplaned once @ 60 mph). I thought both Goodyears (GSD2 + GSD3s) were better coping with deep standing water.

Both Goodyear F1 asymmetrics and Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas are very good tyres and always get great reviews, however, the last time I looked, they don't do anything smaller than 17". This is useless for our 16" wheels. Standard vRS tyres are 205/45 16.

I have recently replaced my Toyos with Uniroyal Rainsport 2s and don't have any complaints yet. A lot of people on here will recommend them too (if you can find them).

I don't want to sound patronising, but I have a strange feeling this question has not been asked before on this section. :dull:

I have dunlop sport maxx. Amazing tyres after 3000 miles. Great in the wet and dry.

Have had F1's before, these are on par for grip. Not bad for £85 fitted.

Dont really rate the toyos. Wore out after 6000 miles.

Andy

What were you doing to those poor Toyo's?! :giggle:

Just replaced the front two of mine, they lasted 10000 miles, and that was including 2 trackdays, and a 15 minute Brisky session. Also before you ask I certainly wasn't pottering around ;) I was quite impressed they lasted that long.

If you decide to go for Uniroyal rain sport 2, try mytyres, as they have them in stock, and also have michelin pilot sport 3, and avon zz3.

My Toyos lasted 13k miles and were recently replaced with Rainsports. My Goodyear GSD2 and GSD3 lasted longer. GSD3 so far lasted 22k miles, although 13k have been on the rear.

awebber: you've forgotten to write a reply to my post that you quoted.

Well I have 16" Goodyears so can say with some certainty that they do them in 16", they are 205/45/16 aswell.
