Octy Model Year 2012

Featured Replies

The new 2012 model year will soon be upon us, and we still await to hear what be offered for next year.

So why not let all members know what you would realistically like to see included, either as standard or optional.

For myself I should like the following items:-

1. An mph/kph marking on the speedometer - no extra cost.

2. Ability to change the Maxi-dot readout from kph to mph - no extra cost.

3. Power folding mirrors offered on all models -extra cost.

4. Spring dampers for the 4 grab handles - no extra costs.

1. An mph/kph marking on the speedometer - no extra cost.- Not going to happen

2. Ability to change the Maxi-dot readout from kph to mph - no extra cost. - Can be done now with VCDS

3. Power folding mirrors offered on all models -extra cost.

I've got these on my X reg Toledo

I had them on my 1992 300ZX lol that car had the works!!

Shame about the mirrors, i'd love to have had them on my car. Real pity that1.

This thread not good enough for ya eh?

;)

2012 already out as they usually come out in May for most makes. But for 2013.....

The 210 hp TSI engine that the A4 has with the a lot more torque something like 330 NM or so (variable valve timing me thinks).

Bigger fuel tank so I can go much further without filling up, 60 litres at least but 65 to 70 would be good.

Four wheel drive option on this engine too might go for.

doors that dont hold water till you open the doors, and the boot lid that does not fill the boot with water when you open when its raining. or the 2ltr bi turbo from the vw transporter.

Don't think they'll change anything significant now until the Octavia 3 comes out.

to be fair the charges are really not worse getting excited about. They are just a few warning light changes, different tail pipe and two new colours.

if in any doubt ask your dealer to read the update on the octavia for build week 22.

Slightly OT, more a vain wish list.

Up rated Vrs. How about ttrs underpinings? Lovely sounding 5cyl engine, pulls well, decent economy and power. Naturally the 4wd, uprated suspension and brakes to match the increased weight.

Much better sound proofing and thermal insulation. Heated windscreen(already available in the aftermarket) Auto -retractable mirrors.

Really comfortable, ergonomic seats for those of us with back probs, a flat bottom steering wheel and maybe a default to rearmost position for the seat between door open and engine start. Of course, should be heated/cooled like the top of range recaro.

Powered SatNav screen in dash top, car computer in dash. You can buy a whole system for less than a columbus! You could then fit nav program of choice, use media player for sounds with active speakers, have vagcom permanently available. Have just got a 3G dongle (£10 a month) which so far is workiing well on the laptop, so emails and surfing would be possible. You can also have visor/seatback screens for the kids or video conferencing.

Is this the next <big thing> in our vehicles?
