I look into that i did not think about colour coded them nice one thinks

I think they look fine on the estate, less so on the hatch.

They look better than scratches. That's the point.

I think they look a bit g4y - ruin the nice lines of the car. A member on here has a race blue estate with protective strips, look ok.

Don't paint them - they call them protective strips for a reason and it will be a shame to spend money on painting and then find them hurt by someone's door.

If you leave them as they are even if hit they will still look fine and you can repair them easier than painted ones.

Same as that! The black will match any mudflaps and doorsill trims, should you deside to fit them (Not sure if the Vrs has sills from new)!

If you DO paint 'em though, They will still be smaller to re-pant then the whole door!

im going to get the protective side strips on my monte gettin them painted piano black and the car is corrida red

hi rob just having mine done and the spoiler will be ordering the front spoiler which the same as the monte

if you don't whount to colour code. you can have them painted satin black look nice pete

I have a set on my Fabia vRS, well and truly needed IMO due to the carelessness of people in car parks!

I'll just be parking as far away from the door and other people as possible! Saves any hassle of being dinged! I'm very rarely anywhere that would require me to park that close to people. Fortunate I guess. I don't like the rub strips down the side, I prefer without :) Just my opinion

I have the door strips on my estate, they are brilliant and have saved the day many times....AND...my wife and I always park well away from other people in 'safe' areas! Anyhoo, a couple of months ago I parked at work in a place where no one ever parks and far far away from all my colleagues. When I returned to my car I had a nice big ding in my passenger side rear door. It seems a clown had parked as close to me as is possible and allowed his children to fling the door open onto my car, and that caused the problem. Unfortunately no one got his reg number. Of course, the shape of the rear doors on most cars means that they simply won't hit the door protection strips if flung open against another car. They simply hit your nice shiny paintwork and cause a dent/ding/load of aggravation! :o

G4y? I really hope this isn't a homosexual remark!

NAH!:giggle:

I think the side strips set the doors off, without them the door is a big expanse of metal that is just waiting to be donked by inconsiderate chumps in car parks!

Pointless like 99% of other side strips. The door protudes higher up towards the top than where the strips are. It's just impossible to stylishy protect car doors.

I have to agree. I have just had them fitted and they offer no protection at all. What does puzzle me is why the factory fitted ones are deeper and protrude more than the after fit ones that have been fitted by my Skoda dealer.
