Just out of curiousity, has anyone on here had any experiences good or bad with these chips available on ebay for £20 that supposedly take 5 mins to fit and increase ur bhp by up to 35bhp??

seems abit too easy and too good to be true. any reviews welcome

They're absolute rubbish. All they are is a resistor in a box. They plug into the fuel temperature line tricking the ecu into thinking the diesel is hotter than it is. The density of diesel reduces as it gets hotter so the ecu injects more fuel to compensate.

as said above, but also add to the mix lots of enegine management lights...

Steer well clear. If its a budget thing you are after get a digital tuning box. Still poo, but better then the analogue rubvbish you get off ebay.

I vote you save up and get proper remap - unleash the cars potential!

a proper remap seems to be the way forward. with a full service on thursday there, mot in 3 weeks, insurance and tax closely following i may have to wait and save for a while yet lol.

plus i have no idea of where to start or begin to look even to get this done. im in northern ireland so a google search is looking good.

mate go to torquetronix in ballymena, had mine done there around a month ago now, brilliant service, very professional and dave is top class, he knows his stuff very very wel and is at the top of the business and writes maps for many of the big uk companys, been in the business for wel over ten years. very highly recommended.

Shark give you a self tuning box were you send your map then they send a tweaked map back. Very popular choice on here

As mentioned above they don't work. These things normally consist of a 10p resistor in a plastic box.

not only is shark more expensive for the sts its a generic map, all be it a fairly good one, you be better going for a custom map
