165k miles and......

Featured Replies

It's time the old girl got some TLC so I've booked a week off work the list of jobs to do is to replace the following

Dog bone mount

2 x drop links

Poly bushes all round

Rear upper strut brace

Full service

Cam belt change + water pump

Aux belt

Uprate clutch and replace dual mass flywheel

Nothing has really been changed on it other than the service items as far as I know in the 165k miles so it has lasted very well but I think abit of TLC is due now some of the above items are getting a little worn so before it brakes I want to get them done.

I will be doing all this work my self to save a few £££'s it could take some time but once done she will be ready for a bigger turbo and another remap.

Wish me luck

Good luck with doing the clutch and cambelt on your own :o

Cambelt I'd leave to a garage as if it's not timed up properly it will do quite a bit of damage.

As long as you have the timing belt locking tools you will be fine. Just don't drop the gearbox on the deck, they are fairly fragile due to type of alloy used in construction.

Ye just ordered a locking tool off flebay

Good to see other quite high mile fabia`s running well. I`m a few 1000 miles behind you, but a slightly further into the tuning stage to you, mines running sweet at the moment. Good luck with the work, as said, gearbox will be the biggy, since its very heavy!
