DRL's Again

Featured Replies

My update on the Ultraleds then. Outside in the daylight they are fine and not too bright, nice white colour and IMHO far superior to the blue glass Mtec's. I also replaced the 5W sidelights with LED ones from Ultralights, so far they have not caused any errors (please note the 8 led ones DO NOT fit, they are too large)

To sum up these Led DRL's - A major improvement, best look by miles.

If the superb is like the octavia, you can raise de intensity of the brightness on the leds

In the DRLs themselves? Could you explain further? :)

With VCDS you can adjust the level.

Mine are in and working perfectly

Surprisingly easy to fit  , OK for you normal people but for the man that puts the PRAT in practical and the WHY? in DIY, I am pleased with my efforts. Now just hope there are no warning lights and the units don't fall out when I go over a bump

Yes, normaly at 93/94% and goes up to 121%, this on the octavia.

It may not seem much, but if you lower it to 60% you can see the dif.

or even 10% ( lower %, i think)

it´s on your long codding at 09-central electrics, can´t remember the byte

it´s easily seen

After spotting this thread recently I ordered a couple of ultra-brite LEDs to be fitted at the end of my first week with the new car.

Even practiced pulling the lamp unit out so I knew it would be a 5 minute job when I came home last night. And it was.

However

Had an OOPS! moment when I came round the front of the car. Not pleased as I've been sent the wrong xxxxxxxx lamps. Will now have to send them back and get the right ones as I don't think I can keep them long term.

ps - I am now the fastest DRL lamp changer in town.

That would be nice, if you lived in North America :giggle:

Just ordered mine!

Just ordered mine too B)

Have you got them fitted? Are they WHITE?

I am now into the return and replace process :(

They are as white as your going to get.

Got them YES, fitted NO !! Haven't got a Superb to try them in (still on order) but have tried them and can confirm they are WHITE, a very nice white and probably very similar to my blue tint sidelights on my Octy.

They will look much better than standard DRLs

I am expecting to receive the DRL led bulbs from Ultraleds tomorrow.

It is just as easy as swapping the current DRL bulbs by the led ones without changing polarity of connectors?

And another quick question, may I have the link to the Ultraleds sidelights (the ones replacing the parking lights bulbs (W5W I think) close to the Xenon beams)?

Thanks for your help.

They only do discount codes on Bank Holidays.

Phil

I picked up my new Combi Elegance on Wednesday and had the DRLs changed to the Ultraleds within an hour of getting home; it took me about 2 minutes to fit each one.

They are certainly bright and most definitely WHITE ! Undoubtedly a great improvement on the originals and, compared to certain Mercs and BMWs, not toooo bright IMHO.

Any one done LED fogs?

If so, what do I look for and where. Thanks.

Phil

I've not done the fogs because the stupid cornering lights go on & off in a gradually, I don't think it will work too well with LEDs. I have changed mine to some "white" halogens though that are much better.

I tried LED fogs, no problem with corner lights, but not enough lumens like original.

They were H8, then converted and used as my reverse lights B)

I have ordered the above as per a link posted a few postes ago. These don't seem right. Any ideas which are the right ones on the Ultraleds site.

I suspect they may be out of stock as neither the original link nor a search on "382/1156/ba15s Anti Canbus 27 Led White Bulbs" (which is what they delivered to me and which work perfectly) produces the relevant product page on the ULed site any more.

Eventually got my LED DRL mounted, and I really think it is a great improvement.

And even for me (my car competence limits to fill up gas and washer fluids) the job was done in 3 minutes and was slightly harder than opening a door. :giggle:

Very nice

Got 2 of the last 3. E-mailed ultraleds and they checked their stock and updated their website when they found 3 more. Great service from UltraLEDS. Now to see what the ones I bought originally can be used for.
