Well if you had read post #13 you would of seen for yourself how crap they are :giggle: .... before you bought them. :dull:

MtecvOE.jpg

Thought they were the ones pictured in post 121!

Doh Doh Doh!

:(

Don't panic you might like them, just because someone says they are crap don't mean that you will think so, it's just one mans opinion after all.

Everyone that commented on mine prefered them to the yellow originals, but the same people also prefered the LED ones I'm now using, although if your having Canbus issues even with Leds then these Mtecs may be the answer?

No, I have LEDs with no issues, I just thought it might be fun trying alternatives, I like the led look, I'd be happier if they were marginally brighter.

Just a case of trial and error really.

I thought the idea of DRL's was to improve your visibility not look good?

If you can achieve both by retrofitting LED's then great, but if they are dimmer than OEM I don't see the point.

You are quite correct,

They are indeed to improve visability :wonder:

However if they look good as well wouldnt that be great too? :S

Just a thought ;)

Post #17

I hold my hands up. These from Ultraleds are much brighter than Mtecs, so fitted them.

I was one of them post #98

Phil

But for whatever reason, I have had 2 sets of those from the seller and they work, but generate errors and throw up the bulb failure warning on mine. Someone else with a post June 2011 build car come along and try them so that I know I am not going barmy :)

Just mounted the ebay DRL bulbs on a friends brand new superb.

They were as bright and nice as my ultraleds. And no errors! :)

I'll order a pair for spare myself. Seems anyway that ultraleds not are going to stock up.

  • 2 weeks later...

Have someone tried these 44 LED bulbs for DRL? And if they are even better than the 27 LED bulbs?

Phil, could you tell me if these could be right for fogs?

Are they as easy to replace as the DRLs?

I've taken my DRL Led's out, they overheat eventualy and the fumes/smoke they give off tarnish the whole Fog/Drl fitting leaving some residue crap all over the chrome reflectors and the inside of the glass.

I got the **** off but not after it cut my fingers to pieces and it took hours too.

Old fashioned bulbs for me now, Leds are good but these bulbs with built in "anti-canbus" resistors just get too hot. The ones i've used in the interior of the car don't have these resistors so they are staying.

Mine works excellent! They were very expensive, but perhaps worth it? :) (bought from swedish company, about €55 pair)

Mine still work spot on. Did a 4 hour trip the other day. so they was on for more than 4 hours without turning them off. Did not melt. so still happy with mine.
