the ibiza guys dont seem happy on seat cupra net lol. The reason the seats are always low is customer service after sales and dealership support.

See what happens in r years skoda UK and dealers Are not exactly in favour with a lot of people on here at the momment.

Only due to delivery issues... can't blame them for their cars being so popular! Although they could curb the orders for a bit but meh!

personal I have no problem with the waiting times, I've been one of the lucky ones. I ordered my car at the start of April and was given a delivery date in September October. The car has now been built and should be ready to collect in the next week or two. However if I was one of the unlucky ones, who ordered in January and are being given provisional build weeks of 40 and 42 then - would not be putting nice thing on the JD Power report about skoda. Even if the after sales part of the service is excellent

Although don't forget that 'us lot' represent a very tiny minority of Skoda buyers/owners. Most people (Skoda owners) just haven't heard of 'Briskoda' or if they have, never ever use it! It is people with a problem or beef, or who are knowledge seeking enthusiastic owners that search out sites like this and use it. So site like this can sometimes give a very skued view of the world relating to specific issues. I remember when I started looking around for a new car to buy I looked at every survey going and read everything I could find about the two cars I was interested in (VW Golf and Skoda Fabia). It soon became pretty clear which one was the better option regarding build, reliability, dealer service etc etc. So I think the surveys are pretty accurate overall and honestly reflect the trends. I haven't been disappointed either.

Exactly, MOST people come onto the internet to moan about something... I come on these forums coz I like a banter, like to look at pics of other peoples cars and often updates are posted here quite quickly about whats going on :)!

I think that it is a great result for what is effectively a semi budget car.

To come only just after the Jazz and Mini shows that once they have delivered the cars, Skoda does a very good job.

Now I am waiting to be blasted at the "semi budget car" comment.

No problems with waiting times. Better than there being hundreds of cars in a field being distress sold with owners buying 'new' cars that might actually be a year or more old.

I think some people need to be more patient and look at the bigger picture.

Blast, blast....only joking!!!...:D

Well skoda a budget car? No not any longer did use to be but that's more than 10 years ago, top specc any model now is expensive, the only budget stuff now are the new emerging countries I.e south Korea and Malaysia , there are no real budget manufacturers in the eu any more, I have never been let down by the dealer to be honest nor by the cars but skoda customer services have taken a battering last couple of years mainly for silly mistakes or misinformation the waiting times are a nightmare but many other makes are having major problems as well, it's just been down to the lack of the DSG boxes mainly and issues relating to the sat nav , but once the vehicle is on the drive the issues tend to be forgotten, enjoy your cars and live long and prosper

Skoda is still a budget VW or Audi though.

A 6 or 7 years back the Fabia and Octavia were in the top 5.

The current order situation isn't going to help manufacture happy drivers.

How many people on here participated in the JD Power Survey? I did and gave feedback on the Avensis I had at the time. The survey is not typical as

1. You need to have internet to take part

2. You need to be bothered enough to take part

However when this is added to all the other awards and plaudits Skoda have had over the past couple of years the trend shown is of a company that largely delivers products the people who buy them are happy with for the money they have spent on the product. The current waiting lists for nearly all models/variants show that this consistent message is getting about and more people are ordering Skodas now

Problem is going to be how many will be repeat customers?

A lot of new customers have been attracted by the vat deal but many were given unrealistic delivery times.

Our current Fabia order is our 5th Skoda and 3rd new Skoda order. It was nearly one more but I couldn't wait for a Superb Elegance 2.0CR DSG so went for the Passat.

Even though I like the Skoda brand I'm dissapointed with the information given at time of order and the cummunication since. I will think twice next time.

I think for a lot of people the current situation will mean they do not trust Skoda again.

Skoda is still a budget VW or Audi though.

That's probably debatable now, its only marginally cheaper than VW, and they don't get the brand new engines and gearboxes straight away, but I'd hardly call it budget, even against VW!

There is still one European budget make, Dacia, but there aren't many sold over here.

It's when you start looking spec for spec, the cost widens. At the time of ordering my top of the range Passat it was the same price as a Superb Elegance but the Superb came with Columbus, Electric Memory Seats, Front and Rear Parking Sensor, Dual Zone Climate, MDi, front fogs, Xenons and a few other options that would come to nearly £6000 if you specced the Passat up to the same level.

Same goes for Octavia the Elegance comes with Dual Zone Climate, Bolero, Parking Sensors, Front Fogs, Headlamp Washers, Auto Wipers, Auto Dimming Rear View Mirror, Leather Steering Wheel and Cruise Control. The Golf SE is more is slightly more expensive but has all that on the options list.

Its certainly not a budget car, though!
