KNOCKERS!

Featured Replies

I have had a pair of knockers in the last 3 days.

I think it is perhaps the nice weather bringing them out?

2 seperate occasions, 1st one as I parked in town, 2nd one as I was stopped in town traffic, both guys, one youngish, one oldish.

One knocked on the passenger window, the other ran around and knocked alarmingly hard on the drivers window.

Rolls down me window,

“Can I help you mate?â€,

“Yes turn them B*****D fog lights off!â€

Tee Hee.

I had an old guy coming the other way flash me and turn his fogs on and off, I just gave him the V, he really annoyed me :wonder:

people are ignorant... all the new VW's have the DRLs in the same place, and all new Hyundia's have the DRLs in the same place..

BMW's, Mercs, Audis, Citroens, Porsches, even Ford Mondeos ffs

I've seen all of the above with DRL's now...

Just get a large vinyl sticker on the front edge of the bonnet with arrows pointing to the DRLS...... "These are not fogs you morron but DRLS as the law requires! :finger: " ..........:giggle:

will a my12 basic fabia have drls fitted being

face lifted and next years model

I hope this never happens to me, I doubt I'd be able to keep my cool unless they were trying to warn me of something dangerous.

Fear not, I'm pretty sure the efficient law-making types at the EU managed to insert a clause allowing road-rage on the grounds of self-defence against idiots who don't understand the new law.

i have had someone in front flicking there rear fog light on and off at me so when i got to the next set of lights i let them know they are drl's i dont think he had a clue what i was talkin about, i hate anyone other than the police tellin me what i can and cant do on the road

DRL's and foglights have a diff look to them anyway... some people are just daft =/

I find it funny though that people have been pulled by the police for having DRLs

More to the point, is it even possible just to put fogs on without at least having your side lights on!?

No, I don't think so, because the switch will only let you put fogs on in sidelight/full beam position

You are right, sidelights have to be on to activate the fogs, unless of course both sidelight bulbs have failed!

Or deliberately removed! I've seen this once or twice. Saw a lad who'd taken the 501s out of his Pug 206 just so he could have the fog spots on "exclusively". Rather sad. Don't understand the front-fog brigade.

The DRL's have to be on all cars built in europe from 2011 but they are not required to be on by law in the UK. I choose to have mine on :)

If it isn't law then how long before it is?? If you have an accident and the fact that you couldn't be seen properly is a factor and your insurance company looks at the car and finds you have turned the DRLS off (as you are implying that is possible) then I bet that that the insurance company won't pay!!! The whole point of DRLs as I am aware is that they are always on and have been requested over the years by the saftey groups, insurance companies etc to make cars more visiable duing low light/daylight hours....without the power requirement of sidelights!! This is not quite true. DRL's are required on all new MODELS across the EU (including the UK). However on old models (e.g. the whole Skoda range) they are not needed, even on new cars. This does not stop manufacturers fitting them on old models, and if they are fitted and they can be turned on easily then there is no reason no to.

What I want to know is when lorries will get DRL's

The one demographic of drivers who don't know what the hell DRL's are - are lorry drivers.

Often see them shaking their heads at me.

eff off.

Seen quite a few new cab units with DRLs on up here!!! and they are 4ucking bright!!!!! Also we get a lot of the logging lorries around here.......four huge spots on the bar in front of the rad and another 6 to 8 on the roof!!! These things could light up Wembley!!!! B)

That's somewhat hypocritical! Lorries, and it seems national express coaches - love their front fogs which destroy my retinas when motorway driving.
