Hi guys, i know this has been covered but could you just help me out cos im new to the vrs, i have a 54 plate vrs asz i think not blt, what does this egr delete mod do and is it worth doing and is it easy to do, how do you do it?? thanks guys.......

The mod replaces the EGR valve with a straight bit of pipe, but will need to be remapped to remove the engine management light after.

Have you seen the inside of an egr valve? Very very nasty! One of the stupid emission laws brought in, if they aren't cleaned out there worthless after 20k

wasnt aware of that, mines will probably be fooked then, will have a look at deleting it

no need to delete it..disconnect the rubber hose and plug the pipe that activates it....wont work so same benefit.

needs to be mapped? can you map it out the blt engine and who would do this map....amd?

I think if you have a blt you need to live with the light

and what im pretty sure nobody actually has said is that if the egr delete causes the light to come on how do you know if there is an actual engine fault that is unrelated to the delete as the indicator is already stuck on

Very good point. EGR delete also cause high NoX emissions, very toxic and nasty stuff. Also increased engine temperatures at cruise speeds under light engine load. Could well be an MOT fail from 2012, and almost a certainty in 2013 when part 2 of the Euro regs are passed onto VOSA.
