Featured Replies

Hi i have a 2005 fabia vrs, right what happens is ill be driving fine then sometimes my car beeps three times and sometimes cuts my powersteering out but now its got worse, whn i turned it off when it beeped it wont start again.

ill put my keys in and my ignition and electrics all work fine, but when i go to start the engine just nothing no noise or anything. I used jump leads twice before and it worked but now i try it ans nothing at all happens. Do you recon this is my battery?? please help

sounds like either your battery or i think the positive lead to the starter can break on these not 100% on that though

where will i locate this lead?

try follow the + red terminal lead from your battery it should go to your starter motor near the gearbox try giving all the wires a wiggle see if anything happens

Sounds like you have two or three faults

1: Battery not charging properly due to broken alternator sense wire, check you get battery light with ignition on and engine off, if light not there, sense wire broken.

2: Battery may need replaced

3: Starter motor solenoid wire corroded or broken. (Car wont start)

found my problem, my friend came round and he tried the jump lead from my negative to the engine to see if there was a earth, and the car started perfectly so it was my earth wire which has obv broke but i dont know where that is? so i have made a temperary one and everything seems fine and no electrical faults at night. Could a faulty earth cause this?

Yes.

Follow from the - terminal on the battery. There will be a lead to the body. Check that, and look for one between the body and the gearbox/engine.
