I had the external briskoda.net sticker and it was power washed off............emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

The key to applying them is to clean the area thoroughly. Brake cleaner or similar will do the trick.

For placement use a strip of masking tape as a hinge on the cover sheet over the logo.

Get it in the right place and then peel backing from the sticky side.

Starting at the hinge, use a credit card or your finger and systematically rub/press the sticker into place expelling all air bubbles towards the other side of the sticker.

Once all in place fold the facing tape completely back on it's self and slide it across it's self to remove.

Normal washing should be OK from the off, so long as you're gentle over the sticker.

Don't jet wash for at least 2 weeks and be gentle when doing so or you will blast the sticker off.

It's surprisingly difficult to write down instructions for this but I hope you get the idea?

Reason I got two Yeti wraps. LOL!

Ooh they were on the doormat when we got home from Wales.

They will be fitted when Harry has had a bath

My stickers arrived Saturday. I'd ordered one of each internal and external window type and rushed out between rain showers to fix the external one. Dried and cleaned the glass and followed the fitting instructions supplied but, and I'm quite happy to blame my own incompetance, couldn't get the design to release from the backing film. I think I was expecting the design to be printed on a clear rectangle, similar to a car dealers window sticker rather than individual characters and footprint. One sticker scrapped.

I then tried the internal one but still could see that the design wasn't releasing properly even after much burnishing down onto the glass with everything fron rubber squeezee to the backs of finger nails, at this point I gave up for the day, left everything as it was and put the car in the garage.

Trying again this morning, things went a lot better, however parts of the design were still refusing to separate from the backing and so I resorted to careful surgery with a scalpel blade to tease the design away.

All OK now and looking good but I'm not sure how well it will last given the amount of lifting and refixing that's gone on, so I'm planning on ordering a couple more and try again with more experience next time. :wonder:

Had similar fun and games trying to get the shiny bit off to enable me to stick it to the window in the first place. However to release the backing paper once on the window I ran a damp shammy over it which worked a treat.

I used to have a sign business doing exactly this kind of stuff. I still have some of the tools of the trade.

As we are so close, if you'd like some help, no problem.

Well as the originator of this idea I'm well chuffed that things have gone this far and we now have actual logos attached to some real cars! I've been a bit busy of late so have just ordered mine and will be able to affix them once delivered.

Thanks to everyone involved for making it happen - although it took 167 posts in the above linked thread to get there and we stand at 181 in this thread!

[Terfyn I hoped you survived it all! hehehe]

CFB, many thanks for that. My white internal sticker is still on after 24 hours :) but I've convinced myself it would look better in red to go with the bodywork and so I'll order a couple of replacements and, hopefully, now I almost know what I'm doing, won't need to take up your offer.....

Thanks again

No worries

Just received mine this morning. 1 foot for inside the glass and 1 Yeti surround for the outside.

Can those of you with fitting experience confirm that," the fitting instructions using a few drops of water with a bit of washing up liquid," are suitable for both the inside glass and outside bodywork.?:wonder:

Did not use water for the inside one; removed the shiny backing paper with much faffing about to leave the sticker on the masking tape type paper, positioned and stuck to window then rubbed a damp shammy over the masking tape to convince the tape to leave the sticker in place as I removed it.

I didn't use anything. Just peeled off the backing paper (eventually) and then affixed to inside windows. Job done.

Mine arrived today. Fitting this afternoon.

Mine's here too; internal window type. Bit of a bu**er getting the shiny paper off the front because the letters are all individual; creased a couple of them but managed it in the end. Sticking down to the window easy enough, then wet the backing with a J cloth and peeled away. Job's a good'un.

Mine arrived. The backing paper wouldnt come away cleanly and tore some of the components. Might try again later :'(

Fitted the yeti this morning.

Had the same problem with the backing paper not peeling off cleanly.

Best way to remove the bits that stick is with a scalpel flat on the sticker and just slide it between that and the backing.

Once you have started it you can just peel it away with fingers.

Be careful not to touch adhesive side of sticker.

See my previous post for aligning tip. Use this method for applying dry.

The washing up liquid trick works if repositioning needed but sticker will not stick fully until all the moisture has evaporated from the adhesive surface.

This can take several weeks so be very gentle washing the yeti

Your caution would make a Yorkshireman proud!

Well it appears I cocked up my order!

I thought I had ordered a black yeti wrap and a silver SMOC logo.

I got the colours back to front so have a silver yeti wrap and a black SMOC logo! :S

I emailed Dian and he has redone my order in double quick time and it was posted out the same day.

Edit; The new stickers arrived in the post this morning.

Thanx Dian you're a star

Tykes......short arms, long pockets!! :giggle:

Hi Guy's!

I see you have problem with fitting the stickers, and the most are with the Footprint sticker.

I made many similar stickers with small letters like Yeti Footprint and fit myself here in Cyprus. The main problem with this small letters is to be very, very, very.... careful when you peel off the back and transfer paper!!!

Even if you do it dry or wet, must be VERY CAREFUL! When the stickers are fixed and dry( if you fit wet), they will be on place long, long time until you remove them.

I have about 1000 sales until now and there is no problem.

Cheers: Dian

I wonder who will start the "I've just spotted a Yeti with a SMOC sticker thread"?

Got my stickers now thanks. In record time too! BUT they are HUGE!!! And I did order the small ones. Any chance of making an Extra Small one please? That is half the size of the current small? Say 90x50mm?
