Recommended Posts

Hi,

Just thought i'd post a pic of my new bits waiting to go on the skip (hopefully this weekend!)

I'll do a bit of a write up with pics when I do it.

Parts so far are:

  • Cupra R top mounts (uprated), bearings & top nuts
  • Cupra R Chassis/subframe bushes (uprated) + rear bolts
  • New ball joints (TT spec)
  • New 'cast' wishbones (TT spec)
  • SuperPro poly bushes (offset rear wishbone set)
  • R32 23mm anti roll bar
  • 23mm SuperPro anti roll bar bushes
  • Drop links (not shown)

More info to come.....

Steve

from what i can gather you dont have to change the hubs, snowmuncher has the wishbones and not the hubs and used a washer to act as a spreader for the ball joint bolt.

due to me and him both being 4x4 if we changed hubs we loose ESP so not really an option hence the spreader

Nice one Steve, bout time you got your car handling properly....YOU wont regret it:>!

Boomsly, hows things? got that car sorted?

You can use the hubs off a 4x4, its only the r32 rack you cant use.

You are right with the wishbones and standard hubs, you can run them, but you need a washer as a spacer to go over the balljoint before you put it into the hub, thats what i use!

ah i see, silly me

the car well, i bought a gt30 and a jabba manifold for it, now things are on hold again, i have a house to "do up" but the car is now slowly going further down the priority list, but it will get done i have a a nice collection of parts for it now with even more to get :wonder:

Exactly the same set up as mine i did a few week back apart from I also fitted the TT Hubs and TT rack at the same time, I did not renew subframe mounts. I plan to do a DIY thread but not had chance yet.

some initial shots i took.

The nice bits cleaned and painted

Cupra R bush (on the right) much stronger and thicker.

Supro pro rear castor adjuster bushes installed and visible offset.

You can see the extra length the TT Hub provides over the std VRS Hub where the ball joint sits a lot lower, that allows the TT wishbone to sit's nice and parallel to the ground even with my lowered set up. And the R32 ARB has nice gap to wishbone too.
