Hi,

I have a 2006 skoda octavia and i am interested in getting cruise control fitted. I have looked at the kits and they seem easy enough but i thought i would just check with skoda to see how much they would charge for the pleasure. I was quoted £1000+ by Rainworth Skoda in Mansfield as i need a new ECU (they said this without even looking at my car). Is this correct?

They say i need Drive By Wire throttle and my car cant have it as its too old (reg dec 2006). Is there anyone local to me in Mansfield Notts that anyone could recommend to have the work done, or at least checked out to see if it can be fitted ?

I'm not an expert on Furbie 1s, but there are way older cars than 2006 that have drive by wire throttle (post-facelift Octy1s so from 2000).

I think Shark Performance or possibly Unit18 (both in the Site Sponsors section) are nearish to you, and will give you a correct statement on whether or not cruise is an easy retrofit.

Your in the wrong section if your looking for Octavia cruise control, but there is a chance you will need a steering column ecu which is a good few hundred on it's own.
