Featured Replies

what would your top 10 upgrades be for a mk1 octavia vrs ?

For me it would be:

Weitec coilovers

Turbo back exhaust

Remamp

FMIC

Dogbone bush

either a CAI or an uprated panel filter with modified airbox (Depends on your personal preference)

Good set of tyres

Short Shift

Uprated DV such as Forge 007

Better headlight bulbs (Standard ones are whick)

Rear ARB is a must have.

I'd have to say address the cars shortcomings first.

i'd make sure I addressed these but i'm not really into modding

-mk4 golf aero wipers and arms

-audi TT rear console bushes

-decent tyres

First thing has to be a decent set of headlight bulbs cos the standard headlights are terrible unless your lucky enough or have deep enough pockets to have factory xenons, oh and dont put hid kit in your standard lights all they do is blind people coming other way, i know i tried it, next thing is sort suspension out cos it will prob be getting tired by now and they dont handle great in standard form,

For me it has been...

TT arch mod

Oil catch can

Uprated bushes for the wishbone

Uprated DumpValve - compbrake

Airbox mod

Ice upgrade

And of course the on running mod is petrol, every bloody week the moddify the price ;) But on a serious note one mod would be to make sure you are putting the right RON into your motor.

And an essential service one todo is the oil pick up pipe.

What bulbs did you go for?

I got the halfrods extreme brilliance bulbs, there alot better than bulbs it had in it,

There still not a patch on xenons i had in my last 2 volvos but aftermarket hid kits worked really well in there headlights unlike the octavia where its just blinds everybody coming other way, Was thinking about getting some differant bulbs and putting xenons in foglight projectors and wiring them into main beam so they come on aswell as normal main beam, just not got round to it yet

For me;

1. BMC or KN filter

2. Forge TIP

3. Forge FMIC

4. Milltek non resonated exhaust

5. Forge DV

6. Custom remap

7. 18" rims + good tyres

8. Boost gauge

9. Coilovers

etc... :)

It's where you butcher the passenger front wheel arch liner and graft a vent into it. It lowers air intake teps, as it lets more air flow through the intercooler.

People normally use the grille from the Audi TT, hence being called the tt arch mod. B)

Cut into a wheel arch where the SMIC is and put a vented grille in to help air flow around it. One of the cheapest mods todo.

It's free if you just use a drill to put holes in the liner

...

6. 152mm Howitzer

...

you must have some bad traffic in your neck of the woods - recon recoil might be an issue :giggle:

A .50 cal would do me fine

na....50 cal is so 1950s...a bofors is far suitable for a 'larger' modern day vehicle :D

Don't you mean the drivers side, oh and its work aswell or it feels like it does anyway

Shhhh. That's what I meant :D

It wokred on my old vrs, helped with heatsoak issues on awesome gti's dyno. Haven't got round to doing it on the curretn vrs, as the grilles from audi have gone up to 40 quid.

I was thinking along the lines of the CROWS II M2A1 turret mount, bang up to date
