I have a diesel elegance model and so far I've

Changed the cam belt

Fitted super bright halfords bulbs

Added a rather fetching tartan wool blanket to the parcel shelf

T-cut all the minor scratches out

And most importantly!:

Got the skoda teddy (bought in 2001) tied to the centre headrest looking out of the rear window.

I don't think there is that many performance upgrades for the diesel or if there were if it would actually be worth it.

Picture required of said teddy are required.

The diesel can have a remap and the cat removed. Stock suspension and bushes can be upgraded along with the brakes.

My mods have either been cosmetic (mk4 golf aero wipers), L&K alloys or to help the engine (elephant mod, EGR blank) etc.

1. Full service + code scan + throttle body clean

2. Set of decent tyres

3. New OEM discs + DS2500 pads + brake fluid change

4. 28mm Rear ARB

5. R32 front ARB + S3 strut brace

6. Coilovers

7. SAI, N249, N112 etc. delete

8. Oil catch can

9. TT steering rack and TT wishbones with polybushes, dogbone engine mount, rear beam bushes

10. Remap + other power mods

Ive never attached a picture before or used photobucket so here goes nothing!

I bought it when I bought my first skoda Octavia from the dealer in 2001, you used to be able to get them from the skoda website.

1. Think about modding it.

2. Decide not to mod it, because you'll end up making the car unreliable and reduce the resale value while at the same time increasing insurance premiums.

3. Get bored and mod it anyway.

4. Realise that the VAG Engineers understood the car more than tuners/you ever will.

5. Return it to standard.

6. Sell off all the aftermarket parts on here for silly low prices.

7. Lick your wounds.

8. Enjoy the car for what it is.

9. Wash and service obsessively to keep her rolling for years to come.

10. Become one of those annoying people on forums that think they always know best.

Alternatively, just get a good remap and some good coilovers.....

1) Reversing sensors, so cheap and so handy

2) Rear ARB, stoppes the rear wobbling so much

3) MK4 Golf Aero Blades, not cheap but its handy being able to see when its raining

4) Remap, makes the car so much quicker and fun

5) CAI or Cat back System, for the noise ( am going to remove my CAI as want it a bit quieter now)

6) Dogbone bushing , cheap and easy to do and cuts down on wheel hop

7) Pikey Arch Mod, like the TT mod except using a grill from B&Q

8) Pirelli PZero Rubber, tried others and these are my fav

9) 4 Pot brakes, when just need to stop. ( have saved me a few times)

10)

10 is blank as not finished yet, could be TT wishbones, Bam engine ............
