Cool new option available....

Featured Replies

A cool new option have been launched on the Superb Elegance!

Ventilated front seats are now available on Superb hatch and estate but only in Elegance trim.

£450 inc VAT.

The opposite of heated seats, this feature draws warm air through the seat base and backrest, keeping front-seat occupants cool in hot weather.

I've tried this system in other cars and it really does work very well indeed, I've already changed our next Superb demo to include this lovely new option. Looking forward to having it!

Any opinions?

so this means you cant let a sly one go in the cush and wait for the missus to catch wind of it and try desperetly to open the passanger window altough i hav locked her side! ahaha ........ instead its just gonna draw it in and get rid of it.. shame :(

Nice to see this is available and it works really well and might allow me to persuade the wife to go for leather seeing as she won't burn her bum

Wonder if the Yeti will ever get this?! They must use the same seats?

Can someone explain 'hot weather'!

We have way too much :rain: :rain: and not nearly enough :sun: :sun: to warrant cooling seats.

Finger still hovering over the heated seats button Oop North.

Any opinions?

What build week will this be available from, as I would like to add to my existing order but would be worried about pushing delivery back further.

Sounds a bit rubbish IMO, pulling air through the seat is fine when you're not sitting in it but can't perform as well when you are as you'll have a 12 stone blockage in the way.

Surely a cool air flow blowing up through the seat would be better.

Like in the A4 and mondeo.

Yes I don't get it either, and is it a case of heated seats or cooled seats or heated and cooled.

also these supposed new sun visors that have been mentioned in one or two places.

Any news what they are and if an option? Are they like the ones Saab used to have so you could have a visor in front and an extra foldy out bit on the side.

Reading that again realise writing about an extra foldy out bit on the side :cough: might get me in trouble with Mrs S, but I'll give that a risk :smirk: .

I like the idea for the two weeks of hot weather we get these summers but I wouldn't have it as an option, too costly!

 Had these on a Mondeo in a previous life and they were very good. Proper cooling seats in my opinion. Can't get my head round these Skoda ones and how they will actually work in reality - is it just a fan, or something more complex?

I had a 2004 Mondeo with these seats and they were fantastic. On the Mondeo they were standard fit; £450 is extortionate.

I have the cooled seats on my current Mondeo and they are very good, but do blow cool air out of the seat, rather than sucking air away.

Well, Steelmonk, I hope to get seats that can do both heat and cool. Of course not at the same time

Unfortunately the switch is in an awkward place like in case of Kessy - on the side with seat controls, so not the most comfortable way to sitch on/off...

Soon massage option will also be available B)

Not so sure how effective this vacuuming method is but we'll see...

Sun visor is ecaxtly as you understand main one to the front and smaller to the side.

Both options I found useful. ;)

First person on net who has translated my not so difficult handle correctly!! You are a gentleman and a scholar.

Thanks for sun visor explanation, that's definitely on the extra wanted list then.

Now on the seat vacuuming matter I can imagine that if the air were pumped away to an extraction vent there could be :ahem: secondary benefits.

I mean you can't always blame it on the local farmer. :notme:

On Porsche cayenne you can use both heat and cool. Also on other cars.

I think it can do on superb also.

Can anybody tell more about Ventilated front seats functionality?

Allams Skoda the picture that you posted is official? any documentation about how is working.

I think you can add it to an existing order now, depending on your current build week it might not have any affect. Get in touch with your supplying dealer, the option code they need to add is PHB.

They are £700 on the E Class, couldn't find it on the Honda Accord. I don't think it is extortionate and having used it in several cars they are really worth the money in certain scenarios, perhaps not in the UK but certainly in other places having the solar sunroof and ventilated front seats would be extremely useful!

Warning: thread hijack.

@James

Any news on the sun visors availability? This would be a good option for me to have as every morning on the commute the low sun constantly moves from side to front and back.

Also while I'm asking if I may, the Luxon wheel FOC option on the Elegance for UK, are they available as the anthracite?

Code according my SE brochure, CCX 800 004A

No mention of a change in the sun visors I'm afraid.

As far as I know the Luxon wheels are available in Anthracite but only fitted at the retailer, for whatever reason you can not specify this option at the factory.
