Amundsen+ DAB

Featured Replies

Download from link given below by Johann. (My link didn't work.)

Page 9 confirms that it will receive signals using the DAB DAB+ and DMB standards, and it will also swap between DAB and FM automatically for stations broadcasting on both systems.

Link does not work. So try this one:

I can't stand that centre round button on this radio! Really ruins the design. And the SD card all on one side... But it seems this will be our DAB choice for now - until they bring out the DAB Bolero which VW have had for YONKS.

You're not an architect by any chance are you? :p ;)

It does look a little too 'one sided' in design terms but I love the idea of DAB being available at long last! B)

Oops...... Alas symmetry and proportions gets ingrained into an architect's eyes from an early age. So I LOVE the two bottons on the Bolero/Columbus that lines with the two roundels for the HVAC controls... I'll wait for the Bolero DAB.

PITA. So you have to have a Navigation unit if you want DAB.

I've had DAB in my cars since 2006 (Vectra Estate and current Mondeo Hatch) and love it. But don't need navigation as i use a trusty TomTom.

Has anyone seen any pricing info as the configurator still shows this as £0 cost option

Does this mean we may have to go for the SE Plus and have those awful seats!! No, no, no.

Why tie in DAB to an expensive satnav that many people do not want. Keep the options separate.

Page 13 also states

"The input MDI is located under the armrest of the front seats or in or under the

storage compartment on the front passenger side."

has anyone got this with the Amundsen unit?

Leads available on Ebay say must have option fitted but I cant find it on the options list??

According to the configurator, the Amundsen+ and DAB options are separate - in that you can have the Amundsen+ without DAB, but DAB only seems to come with the Amundsen+ and not the Bolero. This is similar to the options for a SEAT Altea, whereas VW offer DAB on the Bolero equivalent!

That is just to remind you that VW is the 'Premium' brand and Skoda/Seat are the poor relation. We always get the latest technology several years after VW do....emoticon-0149-no.gif

I asked about the Amundsen satellite navigation see reply below.

Thank you for your email dated 15 June 2011 regarding your questions on the Yeti.

I can confirm that, at present, the Yeti does not come with a DAB radio but it is anticipated that the Factory will be fitting these in the near future; unfortunately we do not have any timescales as to when this will happen.

With regards to storing music on the SD Card, then I can confirm that provided the card is not more than 4 Gig then you may store music on it.

I can also confirm that to change your indicator lights then we would recommend that this is done by your Skoda retailer.

Thank you for contacting Skoda Customer Services.

Kind regards

So what about the HCSD 16gb card they say you can use?

Perhaps you guys can tell me, if the cd writes the navigation to the 16gb sd card, can you still use the SAME card to store and play MP3s?

Went to a dealer and all I got was "I've only worked here two weeks" in answer to every question
