What is it with Nissan Micra drivers

Featured Replies

As per the title, what the fook gives with Nissan Micra drivers? Today was a classic. B road to South Queensferry, and there's this Micra doing 28MPH in a NSL zone (60MPH for road in question). Not only that, she was braking for bends you could take at 60 MPH with no problem. Do these idiots realise they cause other drivers to get frustrated, how the hell did they pass their test? This wasn't a dozy old bint either.

I see this a lot with that make of car, are they limited to 30MPH?

Oh well, at least the turbo got a good clean during the overtake :D

60mph is a limit, not a target! ;)

I was assuming she was one of the living dead.

I suppose you're not going to buy a Micra if you're a speed demon.

We get them here too, either a Micra or a Suzuki Alto / VX Agila.

And somewhere on a Micra forum they're probably saying the same thing about the Fabia...

The other halfs micra doesn't go above 28mph....it won't even start....seems that 112K miles is about the limit on a '95 Micra 1.0 :|

Though when it was running, she didn't hang about.

I quite like driving my Mum's Micra for precisely this reason. Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition etc etc. ;)

And for the record she's not in that category of driver aforementioned either. They are sometimes driven by normal drivers you know! I think you get this type with any make/model - nobody's safe.

My girlfriend certainly gives her 95' 1.3 SLX micra a good workout, you wouldn't get stuck behind her! I must add, I feel she can actually drive well too.

Maybe I should get a Brisky sticker for the back of the MY03 1.4SVE auto my Mum has? Or I've got a spare PH sticker?

Just to give people a heads-up ;)

My girlfriend wants a purple Piston Heads sticker, maybe I should get her one :D

No but providing its safe to do so, as it sounds like, you shouldnt be doing much less :wonder:

Matt

Micra driver I work beside is the worst kind of moron.

At 5 minutes to clock out time he goes and stands by the clock machine to make sure he is the first to clock out.

Once clocked out he then runs to his car, jumps in and takes off without taking the time to put his seatbelt or lights on.

Obvioulsy this means he is first out but he has to then drive slowly while he fannies about putting on his seatblet and then procedes to drive at 10mph less than the speed limit all the way home, holding up the rest of the factory.

What a bell end :swear::finger::@

That's not really the Micra's fault though! He could do that in any car :)

Does sounds annoying though....

I've got a spare Shark Performance sticker she can have :D

Not a bad shout. I've not used my Shark sticker actually, as I prefer to remain at stealth level 5, so I could just sticker it up with any spare that I have! emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

Understood, and I am quite happy to sit behind a car doing 45 MPH in an NSL. However doing 28 and still braking for bends suggests she is a few cans short of a six pack. Thing is, I see this a lot with Micra drivers. A few other brands but mostly the dreaded Micra.

Next mod for the VRS, heat seeking missiles.

I'd look at it in terms of decent practice for brushing up on good overtaking technique :)

I'll use whatever comes along - Micra, Fabia, etc etc

Yep, but it's indicative of the type of twunt that typically choses a dull Jap not-so-super-mini (Briskoda members other halfs excluded obviously :p )

I saw one on the M4 doing about a ton (when the driver was not on the mobile), complete with after market Xenon lighting. Right pain the ar*e.

It's usually this type of Micra that I see - it must have happened to us all. Wherever I go in the UK on a motorway or dual carriageway there will always be a Nissan Micra overtake you at break-neck speeds! Guarantee that on the way home tonight there will be a Micra somewhere!

Must be 1.6SRs at those lepton speeds then, as anything less engine-wise in a Micra and they struggle to do much more than 90. Or so I've been told....

Nah, any of them without an auto box can be coaxed higher than that given a long-enough stretch of road and enough persistance. :D

In a previous life, I used to sell Nissans in Rotherham.

I can confirm that I had an indicated 114mph on a private road between Sheffield and Leeds on a stretch of downhill. It was only a 1994 1.0 billy basic trim Micra (purple with plastic bumpers), but I used to love them. They took an awful lot of abuse from the sales team, but seemed to keep going regardless.

Happy days....

Point taken on the eventual top speed. I remember being stuck behind one on a dual carriageway section of the A1 near Alnwick. The time taken to reach v-max became bitterly apparent after the road cleared following a nice mile long truck overtake procedure emoticon-0114-dull.gif

114 in a 1.0 model must have been, erm.... interesting :D

I' partly agree with Moggytech on this one, although not always a "Handbag" I often follow Micras and other cars who keep to the same speed whatever the speed limit is, they can go through a 30mph, 40mph, 50mph, 60mph and motorway limits at the same speed, usually at 35mph, or some others at 40mph. They just ignore all speed limit signs.

(Briskoda members other halfs excluded obviously :p )

Nice save.... :giggle:
