Featured Replies

anyone ever done anythin stupid in or too there car? i park mine nose first close to my house wall so i can shut my gates behind it, always jugded this by lining up my bonnet with the second brick down, lowered my car last week, pulled into my drive and run into the bloody wall lol, forgot that the bonnet wouldnt match up with the same line of bricks lol. :giggle:

Remind me not to buy your car :D

I did something stupid to my car at the weekend. I was taking part in a charity drag race, and took out all the seats except the drivers seat and stuff like the spare wheel, parcel shelf, etc. Fine, but this bit me on the backside yesterday when I had to put it all back together. I needed to pick someone up from the airport, and I ended up rushing to reinstall my seats outside while being eaten alive by midges :swear:

Ran out of petrol outside my old school yesterday just around home time. Had to go and borrow some money off my sister who was in school for a jerry can and some fuel.

Lol, only touched the wall but have just nudged my bumper up a little at the sides, blind man on a galloping horse wouldn't notice

put 5mm spacers on the rear with s3 wheels and somethign else but I cant remember... always something else

Ooh Driving around with ROS 5EY on my car which wasnt my mistake. I ordered

ROS 53Y and got sent thr wrong plate. Didnt notice it for months

Filling the car up with petrol and driving it till it conked out lol.

Dragged the hose along the side of the car and over the roof

whilst washing the car because I was too lazy to walk it round.

Now marked from headlight to filler cap.

It just didn't occur to me until it was too late :(

Lost whilst horsing with horsepower, but better to have lost horsing with horsepower than never to have horsed at all.

Not being able to resist pushing M3's (etc) along which results in a heavily chipped front end and windscreen...

Cleaning the car and getting water up the exhaust after a spirited drive.

When I started the engine it blew black water up the drive... I'd had a new block paved driveway laid 2 days beforehand. :o

when i first started driving me an my mates would literally push each other up the road bumper to bumper if they didnt move over, standard plastic bumpers are good for something :giggle:

also drive into one of them black posts in a tesco car park foot was wet an sliped off the brakes

none of these incidents was in the fabia thankfully

Not on the Fabia:

Lowered a car onto an axle stand by mistake. Crushed the sill

'Cleaned' engine bay of a Cavalier with a hosepipe. Managed to soak main electric plug and it wouldn't start for days. :giggle:

Exploded (literally) an exhaust back box while making the car backfire for fun.

On the Fabia:

Scraped the rear bumper loading in a sofa into the boot - Pretty minor in comparison..

Driving down a narrow farm lane one morning in my old 318 BMW, an ash cart was coming the other way so we both stopped, he obviously couldn't move out of the way so I started reversing to pull into a pull in I just passed and I reversed the car straight up the side of a small tree. Dented the wing, 2 doors and the back quarter. Gutted.

My fault, reversing to fast!!

I Managed To Reverse My Mums Escort Into A Bright Yellow Skip When I Was Learning To Drive LOL. :giggle:

My wee bro broke down in St Andrews in his banger 106. I took out a fixed tow bar and hooked him up in the VRS.

I was surprised at how rapid the VRS could still power on up to 60 even with the weight of the pug & my wee bro. Anyways, I approached a roundabout with some strange camber a bit too quickly, and the angle of the fixed bar went diagonal and folded. He skelped into the back of me at about 3mph and broke the bumper mounting bracket. Doh. Should have been going slower but I was getting a kick out of seeing my wee bro 6ft behind me, flapping when he was getting rocketed to 60 on tow :D

The bar had a spring in it, and it folded at the ends of the spring. Moral of the story, I had to buy another one, but made sure it was solid with no fancy 'braking' spring.

Driven just a wee bit too fast around a round about whilst snowing..

Damaged so badly that the outter wing needed repair... That's how much the wishbone bent!

Learnt my Winter driving skills the hard (and expensive) way! ;)

I did an Emergancy stop whilst a very drunk friend was practising his car surfing. Car stopped. He didnt. Then somebody accidentally told the 999 operator exacly how Scotty had a broken cooler bone and was concussed. Police turn up minutes later... A friend who had smoked a lot of weed told them to leave as everything was fine.

Edit, not relevant to O P. Sorry.

opened bonnet then put drivers side wiper up to polish windscreen, forgot this minor detail and closed the bonnet, bye bye wiper arm. about £50 for a stupid mistake lol

rear view mirror came off, went to push back onto the ball holder and cracked the windscreen :/ £68 windscreen excess for another stupid mistake.

My list goes on but im sure you dont want to here any more lol

lol do continue. i reversed into a bright yellow skip once in my old nova, and was actualy lookin in my rear view mirror at the time

Stopping an inch away from a short concrete post to do a delivery in a sprinter van a few years back, forgot it was there when I got back saw a gap in the traffic and floored it in 2nd gear, didn't get far to say the least: bent bumper, broken grille and a massive dent in the bonnet. Very embarrassing when happens on a busy market street in a centre of town.

That sounds amazing lol wish I had seen that lol

Hhhhmmmmmmmm....done a few stupid things.....all the following on current car!

Like taking wipers of arms to swap them for new ones and getting the bare arm caught in my sleave which ended up with the arm hitting the windscreen at full force....result.....nice big crack on front windscreen!!!

Or how about not paying attention then reversing in your own driveway and hitting the windowsill of the conservatory??.....result?...nice crease in the rear wing between the wheel arch and the fuel filler cap. Then the local dent repair lot had a look at it and said no way because of double skin steel bodywork to get at reverse side of dent to push it out. So then have a go yourself...result......most of it out but also a sightly strange high patch??? Mind you the paintwork was totally unaffected by the original crash and my work...so it polishes up very nice

I recently took a door mirror off while reversing out of the garage, expensive mistake...

Tried re-attaching the door lock pin to the lock mechanism, snapped the clip, tried fixing it, lost a spring which meant the lock wouldn't work, bought a replacement lock mechanism (not cheap) then found the missing piece to the original lock a few days later in between the pages of my Haynes Manual! Spent hours looking for that spring

Traded in for a Toyota ...... all sorted now though :)
