Big price drop in FUEL PRICES AT SOME SUPERMARKETS!

Featured Replies

Everyone...although I'm not a fan of supermarket fuel, it's just come to my attention that Tesco and Asda are dropping their petrol and diesel prices by 3p per litre today. At least I think it's today. Now running a Fabia is not that expensive but if anyone is feeling the pinch right now then that has to be a good thing, even if you only use their fuel on a temporary basis. Just saying....

It was in this mornings news that this is because of the release of some 60+ millions barrels of oil reserve. They could lower it a lot more if they wanted!

60+ millions barrels of oil

Do you know how many Nectar points that is??

I think you get approx 90 litres of unleaded from a barrel of crude which at £1.30 per Litre would be £117 per barrel. 60m barrels would be £7020000000. 2 points per pound? so all in roughly 14,040,000,000 Nectar points. should be enough to get a crappy toaster or something!! :giggle:

Not knowing how tight sainsburys are. I suppose you might get a kettle thrown in with your toaster for that may points haha!

Nice to know, although i'd like to see Shell and BP follow suit quicker.

although they have there drivers club which you can join free and get money off once youve got enough points.

I only use Shell v-Power in my vRS and am now awaiting an invite to the V-Power Club next :)

Had 1600 points which turned into £8 money off vouchers and lots of other bonus points things too.

i tried both vpower and tesco Momentum99 in my vrs and Momentum99 gave better mpg than the shell vpower and its about 5p/litre cheaper.

So now i use tesco Momentum99

Same, only used BP Ulitmate in mine since getting it, would nice to see it cheaper!

I use Countrywide LPG @ 66.36 ppl :p

Good shout, I just got momentum from Tesco at 138.9p per litre. (which at my local Tesco is cheap because it was 141.9 last week!)

Yeah I had Tesco momentum for £1.389 on Friday too

Yeah I use the Momentum, the car seems to like it and as you say the consumption is better than vpower.

Yeh I noticed that as well. "Feels" better with Mo99.

Yeah gotta say, I used V-Power the first time then noticed the price difference between V-Power and Momentum... been using momentum as it's easier for me to get hold of, its 99 ron and not 98 ron like the v-power (feel free to correct me if i'm wrong) and it's cheaper??? Why wouldn't you?
