someone tell me correct oil to get for topping up my oil what 505.100 or something is it and is it longlife stuff?

As that sticky link says, the correct oil to use for the vRS is 5W-40 and to 505.01 spec. However you can now use the long life stuff (5W-30, 507.00) in the engine without damage. That spec exceeds the quality of the old spec oil. I personally use Millers XFE-PD (505.01).

It doesn't matter which brand of oil you use as long as it meets the specification required by the PD engine.
