Farewell my dear RS

Featured Replies

Dear friends,

I had accident few days ago and I am okay only due to toughness of my Fabia. Sport seats and safety belts did the job and

I walked away from the car with only cracked collar bone. Note that i rolled about 4 times and all door could be opened from

inside.

Okay I was very lucky but still I give 10 stars to Fabia RS safety and I already miss it :(

Wow, that's a mess, but at least you walked away to tell the tale! Glad you're ok

ffff**** me! thats a mess lol. good news on not being that bad for you though mate

Very luck to walk out of that mate!!! A car can always be replaced and hope you have a speedy recovery .

holy carp mate thats mad, glad your ok!

I can see why you were impressed with the structural integrity of your car! Glad to hear you walked away with a relatively minor injury.

Ouch :o

Glad to hear your ok from it though.

Thats a smash and a half to be able to walk away from. Atleast nobody was seriously hurt which is all that matters

one question, what happened??

Saved by a great car,i'm sure it just needs a good T-Cut

Hope this image explains a bit what happened. I consider myself experienced driver but on that day I was going like crazy.

Usually I do this speeds on highways and try to be safe as possible. That s why I was feeling a bit ashamed ending up on

someones lawn. Luckily no one was there... :/ And of course if there was someone in the car with me I would drive normally

and you would not have this post here :)

I would remove your how it happened post

Insurance companies search sites (I know you are not in the UK but ALL insurance companies are the same to get out of paying up)

Glad you are safe

They search also the likes of Facebook and Twitter, so be warned what you place onto the internet.!!emoticon-0112-wondering.gif

Glad you walked away Ok from this.. Wasn't there someone else on here who did pretty much the same thing avoiding a rabbit? If I'm pressing on and there is a small fluffy animal on the road it will get hit as I won't risk loosing control and ending up in the situation above. Much better to have to buy a new bumper/radiator etc than risk rolling into a tree off the road. I'd recommend to anyone to buy a copy of "RoadCraft" and learn the system of car control: stay safe and make good progress :)

i think the "was doing 100+mph" is enough to remove the thread tbh..what if you hit someone coming other way? madness

Glad to hear your ok :) seems that fabia's are quite tough little cars!

The OP said he was in Croatia, correct me if im wrong but is insurance mandatory over there??? also I doubt they are quite the vultures that we have over here!

I'm glad you're ok, but looking at the visibility on that road you can't have been concentrating to suddenly 'think' you saw something on your side of the road and panic?

I'm not a member of the 'speed kills - stick to speed limits' mob, but if you're going to 'press on' you need to give it 100% concentration 100% of the time.

The best money I ever spent was on a days driving tuition with an ex police driving instructor and I would recommend it to anyone. It's not about sticking to speed limits, it's about how to drive safely, sometimes at speed, and read the road correctly.

I'm probably going to get flamed for this post, but so be it. You're lucky to be alive but, in my opinion, you're more lucky you didn't kill any innocent bystanders.
