Hi there

This is Gary - a new Skoda owner as of last Thursday. We have a Fabia Estate 1.2 TSI(86) SE plus.

We've previously had oldish cars, the last being a 51 plate Mondeo. Having got fed up of repair costs being more that the car's value, and the fact that the Mondeo needed >£1k work, we decided to take the plunge and get a new car. PCP plans have made this possible. We've got two young children so wanted something reasonably roomy and narrowed it down to a Fabia or Peugeot 207SW. We wanted to save on all costs - insurance, tax, fuel and the Fabia won it. A key requirement was electric rear windows - not available at all on a Fiesta, and only on a Focus at Titanium trim. The Pug only offered them only the top of the range model with the 1.6 engine - so that ruled itself out on running costs.

So Fabia it was. We test drove one and were happy. We also sat in an Octavia but my wife found the seats too big - the back of her knee caught on the end of the seat. We were expecting a long delivery wait as we specifically wanted the SE+ with the 86TSI so we were ready to start negotiations over a loan car, as the Mondeo only had MOT until mid July. As it turns out, DM Keith had almost exactly what we wanted at Grimsby (only the colour wasn't my first choice - it's silver - and I would have added the bluetooth pack to a factory order) so we ordered the car.

DM Keith were great and kept us up to date with the progress in getting the car from Grimsby to Wakefield. Less than a fortnight after test-drive, we have now collected the Fabia, and the Mondeo went off for dismantling yesterday :(

So - the Fabia's not the prettiest of cars (I don't think small estates have the right proportions) but it ticks all the boxes and the first 50 miles have been uneventful. Long may it continue so!

Hi and welcome aboard.
