Retro-fitting a jumbo box / centre armrest

Featured Replies

Hey

Sorry if this is a silly question (I'm a women)

I have a 2006 Oct VRS which I want to put an armrest into

I have found a listing on eBay (can't attach a photo) which is armrest and metal part below armrest only.

Will this work?

I need to find a man in my life who is handy with cars :-) saves me doing it myself

Do you have an item number of eBay?

I'll have a look for you and tell you what is missing (if anything).

That's got me thinking. I want one now!

Managed to get hold of one for £40 but I'm missing the air vent and little tray thing. Got all the ducting and nuts and bolts though. Didn't think the price was bad.

Yep, pretty good going I think that.

Hopefully you'll get the two missing bits from another being broken

Throw a request at www.hills-motors.co.uk and see if they have anything.

It may not seem like a down side but it is for me, I got a black leather armrest when my interior is cloth so doesn't quite match.  He did say I could have the rear seats for £40 and they looked to be in good condition but that would probably look even more odd with cloth front seats.  The fronts had already been sold.

Has anyone thats done this fit the spacer bolt to the front of the handbrake mount?  (Part No WHT001759) or is it not necessary.  Thats something I didnt get with the pile of nuts and bolts.

I didn't have any suitable nuts/bolts to attach the frame to the handbrake so had to nip out to local hardware place to get a couple. 10mm bolt head/nut, 6mm thread dia, length of ~25mm ok, no longer than that though or the bolt ends will push down into the tunnel.

I would go for quite a bit shorter than 25mm, i would suggest around 15mm (20mm Max).  I got 25mm long and ended up removing the hand brake and putting the bolts up from the bottom. Once the handbrake is bolted back down though, the bolts wont fall out and makes it quite easy to line up the armrest.

I also managed to remove the old centre console without removing the front footwell side panels.

Hello from Bulgaria. I have a Yeti without armrest. Recently discovored that the armrest and center console are same with Octavia 2. So bought evereything consolre, armrest, front ashtray, vents tubes and back and all bolts for 70 euros. I don't think that the front ashtray will fit there because all Yetis are witouth ashtray will see. Can you give me some pointers that to be carefull.

@Yeti-Bulgaria - some parts are shared between the Octavia and Yeti centre consoles but not all.

For instance, the Yeti armrest is 5L0864207C and the Octavia's are 1Z0864207C/D/E so there may be different mounting points. You can find more info on the difference by comparing these two diagrams:

https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/yeti/yet/2012-666/8/863-863060/

https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/octavia/oct/2012-663/8/863-863060/

You might need to tweak the model year to get the correct parts for your Yeti.

Good luck...

@langers2k i've checked diagarms. The donor car is Octavia 2 FL 2010 wagon but my Yeti is 2009 pre-fl. So аccording to the diagram mouting points are same only front ashtray is not comptable.
