This hasn't been a random act of vandalism!! Someone has gone there equipped to do this because theses windows are extremely hard to smash. I know this because my wifes mate accidently locked her kid in her vrs and lost the key. So I thought if I put this window out and pull the handle I could get him out. It took ages even with a big hammer and a pin punch. In the end I had to smashed the bigger door window. All was well in the end but it took a few days to get replacement glass. It would have been easier to go through the windscreen as Auto windscreens etc have them in stock. Found the keys an hour later lol. SCUMBAGS though I'd be devasted if it was mine the glass can be replaced quite easily but the bodywork will be a pain. String them up and beat them.

The next time you need to break a car window simply put the centre punch as close to the edge of the glass as possible and give it a tap and it will shatter - tough on the faces, weak on the edges.

Nicky Boys window has been broken by the lout trying to pry the window out with a screwdriver, thats all the equipment needed.

Absolute t0ssers, as if breaking the window isn't bad enough they have damaged the door itself.

I like the rear seats on the Bora as they lock with the key so you can't pull them forward like you can in the Octy.

Last time someone broke into my car there was no damage, looks like they had a scanner or something. The only time I leave my laptop on the car and some scum gets it... insurance nevery paid out either as there was no damage they rekon I never locked it.

Anyway, that was a Ford Mondeo, got an Octavia now =) every cloud and that.

Whatever you let people get away with, they'll get away with. The trouble with this country lately is that a lot are allowed to get away with a lot.

What we need is a lot of judges and cabinet ministers having the lives regularly ruined by assorted sc*mbags - then you'd see a change in their attitude to persistant lawbreakers.

And what happens if they do get caught? A six month jail term, cut to three, serve one month because they've been in custody and the jails are full already.

Cut their fecking right hand off like they do (did) in the middle east. All thieves should suffer this punishment. We'll know just who they are and it's more difficult to do break-ins, fight back with only one hand etc. It will keep prisons free of this type of scumbag and cut down on repeat offenders. Simple! Grrrrr..

There should be some sort of scheme were ALL criminals have any wages they earn or benefits they claim reduced by a set amount that goes to insurance companies so that the criminals pay for any excess and increases in crime rates would reduce premiums (as there would be more criminals adding to the insurance fund).

I've been quoted £150 to fix the body work and have paid £70 already for the window. The glass took an age to clear up and I'm 100% sure we will keep finding more, makes me not want to take my 2 year old girl in the car.

My plans to get a LSD or K04 are fast fading. Price I have to pay for having a nice car.

£220 is a drop in the ocean compared to what a K04 conversion and LSD would cost, so I wouldn't lose hope just yet!

K04 and the LSD are both extreme upgrades and transform the car, I couldn't drive a K03 octavia with an open diff ever again...

Wow the price of the k04 is staggering! I couldn't see the price for TSI though only TFSI. Guess the k04 upgrade isn't ready yet. I need to get clued up on where to go next with regards performance upgrades. I reckon the LSD would be great on my stage 1 let alone stage 3. Slightly going off topic here. Well at least I'm not too annoyed anymore.
