Leaky rear door covered by warranty

Featured Replies

As per title really. Got a fabia vrs SE from a main dealer 3 months ago and have just noticed that the rear doors let in water after heavy rainfall.

It's booked in for some other work this week, has anyone else had the fix done and had it covered by the skoda warranty?

Leaking back doors are a known weak point on the Fabia. Your dealer should reseal it for you under warranty. This topic has been covered a lot on this forum, so if you do a quick search you can find many threads on it and advice/guides on how to do it yourself if you wanted to.

Theres a sticky on the first page of this forum, have a read through, theres lots of pages but worth the effort. I found it really useful and after having done mine, I would not bother letting the dealers do it as the chances are they won't do a proper job (they failed on mine badly) HTH

Thanks for the replies, I've had a good read of various posts on the leaks, but am really interested how others have got on with dealers fixing them under warranty or it making a chargeable job. If they want me to pay for the job then I'll do it myself!

When mine started to leak, I mentioned it to the service manager.

He said they'd take a look, And they were resealed with no fuss!

I think Skoda's take was rather than a recall, Just fix each car as it was presented!

Just a quick update. Dealer stated that water ingress was excluded from the warranty, but they would as a gesture of goodwill pay 80% of the cost. Unfortunately one door still leaked after the fix, so I had to send it back for another go! This time all good though.
