updating drivers? should it be enabled?

Featured Replies

my system advisor says i need to update my driver? when i try to it says cant find a better match then the one i have? broadcom 440x10/100, it also says its disabled code 22? should it be enabled? means notin to me all that, any answers in layman terms please lol

Do you use a wired network connection into the PC? If not you can ignore it.

Code 22 is a 'device disabled' so sounds like you've already disabled the device either in Device Manager or Network Connections.

It's generally best to use the latest driver available for the devices you're using.

Yes, as it's not something you make use of. If you want to get rid of the message, just update the drivers anyway :)

Proberbly because you are trying to use windows to update the driver, to get the latest driver you usually need to visit the manufacturers website (in this case broadcomm) and manually download and install it. Windows will just attempt to get the driver from Microsoft which may not and usually does not have any new drivers.

Newest drivers are 2007, so its quiet an old adapter.
